I wonder if this is worthwhile after all that work:

In other news... Finally got around to removing all the crickets (aka noisy blower motor) and putting in a new in-cabin air filter. I attempted to use 3-in-1 oil (blue container) to lubricate the bearings to see if that would solve the issue, even though I bought a new blower. It did solve the noise, but caused a totally different problem... Seems either the oil, age, not being overly gentle on removal/install or some combination of those caused the fan to be out of balance and on higher settings to wobble enough to scrape the housing. Switched out the relays, installed new blower, all is good again. |
After reading this, I might hold off on resetting the adaptations.

I chose not to believe that warning lol
1 because too late for me as I already did it this morning haha and 2, does that mean when you first buy your BMW you should drive it on the highway right away to learn your driving style or your car will shift funny? Plus the FCP Euro link states it should be performed any time something has been done to your transmission eg fluid changes. |
Just returned from an 1284 mile vacation! I put on new cross bars for my rack before I went. Great drive to Martha's Vineyard. Truck performed great!! Seems to drive a little smoother after we got back. Probably blew out some cob webs while on the highway.

I installed new Centric Premium High-Carbon rotors, Post-Quiet Semi-Metallic pads, ALL new hardware and refreshed the brake fluid with Pentosin DOT 4 LV this past Saturday. Everything but the caliper, brackets and brake lines got replaced. All went well and they've broken in nicely over the past few days and few hundred miles. I just got back from a perfect bedding session and they seem fine. I'll know for sure tomorrow morning.

Have to give it time as the pads and rotors are still wearing in. I think I'll do another bedding on Sunday and then clean the wheels. I never had a problem with brake dust before with whatever was installed prior to my ownership. It was a leased vehicle so I could assume they were OE pads but maybe not.

Installed a fluidampr harmonic balancer, changed the both belts and the alternator pulley. The original looked decent to my untrained eye. It had 110000km on it

Got my baby back last night. Starter went bad so now she has a new one.
