Did the rear pads and rotors on my '11 X5D the other night.
ABSOLUTE SHIT SHOW. I couldn't believe how hard it was to get the rotors off. So much rusty corroded gunk. Ended up using ratchet straps around a tree to pry one of them free, as no amount of human force and hammering could get it off. Hoping the fronts go smoother. Temps have taken a dip here in MN, so I'll likely wait another week or so before I do the fronts. iDrive says I've got 10k left on those, but was -600 on the rears before I got them done. |
What have you done to your E70 today?
That's a lot of work guys. I have sometimes had luck of loosening the rear lug bolts and driving in the driveway hitting the brakes hard. Some times that is enough to break the rust free.
Oh yea and it seems the rear is always the worst. |
Repaired Active Seat Function... New Pump & Valve actuator.
Next up, Power Tailgate Retrofit. |
This is from last weekend but interesting to some perhaps. Had my X5 on the lake. Drove around a couple miles.

With the grey/yellow wire run to hkl module the trunk would open itself if the doors weren't locked. Once this wire was cut all was good. Go for it......it really isn't that difficult |
