Installed new front rotors and pads and installed 2 new cam position sensors. Runs like a charm

Here is a great DIY that I followed for the TRSVC retrofit.
DIY - 2012 X5, OEM Backup / Reversing Camera Retrofit. How 2 Install for le$$ !!!

Note that if you are working with a Pre-LCI X5, as I was, you also must do the folllowing:
1. Replace the JBBF (Junction Box module under the glove box) with a newer LCI module
2. Extend all of the PDC sensor wires from the old PDC in the Left rear area to the new JBBF module (which has the PDC built into it)
3. Remove the old PDC module
4. Code the new JBB module

There are a number for DIYs on the NBT, but I purchased a kit from Bimmer Retrofit and their product has been perfect and their tech support even better...
If you want to do this retrofit, I HIGHLY recommend them!!

1. Changed my fog lights from the white bulbs to yellow LED's. Looks great but now
throwing the fog light out code. Going to check getting it re-coded.

2. Repaired a leak from my headlight washer. Dealer did some repairs on my front end
and did not reattach the washer line back on. Found it and corrected.

3. Oil and filter change. NAPA Gold filter and Rotella T6 oil.

Yesterday I did the ATF change on my wife's 2009 xdrive35D.

While test driving it afterward the alternator crapped out. I ordered a cheap reman unit from Rock Auto, but I think I may look into rebuilding the OEM one myself. If I can get brushes and a new Reg/Rect it shouldn't be hard. I know the Reg/Rect from BMW is about $170.



The loss of control experienced was much worse than when the power steering goes out on an older vehicle. It really felt like the steering was fighting me as the dynamic drive functions started to fail due to low battery voltage. I'm glad it happened to me and not my wife.

Hah!! I got the idea to do this from your thread! I even bought the resistors. I also read that they get very hot and they will melt the plastic under there. I do not want that issue so I will look for the coder option first. How have yours been holding up so far?

No issues with mine. I zip tied them in a manner that keeps them away from plastic.

Do you have any pictures that I can see where you tied them?
