(potentially) Peerless by Tymphany NE65W-04 (or NE65W-08) 2" Full Range Woofer.

So where have you seen the JL C2-600 set for $140?
I may be headed to US for a small trip so I'm gonna try to get all speakers shipped to hotel.

Again though, lets clear this up, is going to 4 ohm woofers/tweeters really going to kill your amp at normal cruising music volume? Because although plenty of happy guys around here going to 4ohm drivers - I'm not audiophile enough to know if there are any negative effects on the system with converting all the speakers to 4 ohm.

Mike - now that I look back, it shouldn't be an issue for our DSP amps unless you start to hear clipping, see posts #12 and #13 in this thread.

Since I only got a pair of C2-600CW woofers, I'm thinking going with the budget Dayton Audio in 4 Ohm to match the front door JL with the 0.75" tweeters in the rear doors like Prop did.

Mike - grab that set! (I am going to grab them too) - and match all 4 woofers IMO, you needed the tweeters anyway right? And stay tuned I should have the exact specs for the rear door midranges by next week, although preliminarily we have found a driver by Peerless that will fit and work as intended as a midrange driver in that location -

Yeah I need the full C2-600 set for front and was going to buy the same set for rear... but if the Peerless mid range is a drop in mid range, I'll just buy that and then perhaps the Dayton 4 ohm speakers (instead of JL C2-600 set or just the C2-600W since I'm never sitting in back seat anyhow, so perhaps its ok to cheap out on those speakers...).

yeah I remembered ppl posted early in this thread about how the 4 ohm is not bad. I just figured that if the factory is an 8 ohm, some may wish to stick to that spec. BUT if I'm wrong tell me, but I'm sure the lower the ohms on the speaker, the more volume it can put out...

^Which is true but I also think a higher impedence is also more efficient? So although more power is needed from the amp its using it more efficiently? Idk, but I never blow my ears out when driving any more anyway lol so I'm not too personally worried about going to 4ohm all around -

The Peerless 2" midrange should basically drop in with minimal if any modification from my preliminary research but I will confirm next week with pictures.

Even at $300 for 2 of the C2-600 sets, $35 for Memphis Midranges, and $65 for Peerless rear door midranges, you're at $400 invested and have an extra set of tweeters you can sell for $50 probably. So not bad at all!

Or you can do Memphis x2($35), Dayton Woofers x4($160), and a set of JL tweeters ($75) so about a $100-150 difference. I looked on PartsExpress and didn't find anything I really loved on tweeters (although I don't know the exact size of the OE driver), but I'm sure there is something that would work - If I went with 4 Dayton woofers I would go with Dayton tweeters (I like to keep my brands similar as much as possible)

Stay tuned boys - update by the morning as I have my $17 spare rear door midrange that I ordered - (for science of course) on the dimensions for a perfect fit replacement driver, which likely would be the 2" Peerless previously mentioned
