I wish I owned all the different flavors of the x5 to do a howto on each one. I hate it when people run into stuff that I cant replicate because of the different setups bmw has on these.

But that video seems to be as close as I can come up with to help you on yours.

So when you plugged the seicane in up front into the large connector that was on the back of the factory radio the seicane came on but no sound right?

Also Seven40iL do me a favor and take a picture of the front of the old radio. I want to see the buttons.

Correct.

But like the video you posted, I did not have any of the other plugs for the accessories connected or plugged in. Would that make a difference?

All I connected was the large connector from the back of the factory radio with the Seicane connector, and plugged the smaller black connector coming out of that into the back of the Seicane.

Got power and access to the entire unit, but no sound.

Also, here is a pic of the original factory radio, the same I sent to Seicane before they shipped my unit:

Do the steering wheel controls work?

As in can you turn the volume up and down (it has a overlay that pops up when volume goes up and down letting you see the volume level) or change stations?

Didn't think to try that!

Going to bed now, appreciate the help!

Will definitely plug it back in tomorrow and test the controls.

If anything else comes to mind to check, let me know and I will do so in the morning.

Have a good night!

Ok when you get back up in the morning the reason you have no sound is that pin 13 on the connector doesn't have power.

Locate pin 13 in the large connector in that's in the dash that your hooking to and find out what is on the seicane's connector that matches pin 13 on the car's connector.

Morning!

Ok I will go out and check what matches the pin 13 on the Seicane connector.

Also, for all the accessory wires, do I even have to plug any of them in if I don't have a back up camera or anything else at this point?

So basically I would be plugging in the Radio plug, the GPS plug, and the two USB connection plugs ALONG with the main harness from the stock deck to Seicane. Correct?
