Oh the reason I recommend the cable has to do with direct rca cables will sound better than using the converter.

If it runs all the speakers your home free but you need a cable. Your going to need an rca cable long enough to go from the headunit to the amp. Once you plug that in you will have sound.

If the amp only runs the sub then things are different. I'll wait on a response.

If you are running all the speakers with this amp Im guessing you didn't have front to back fading? Just left to right adjustments?
My X5 came with 6 speakers. I purchased a BSW kit that included plug and play upgrades for the 6 speakers, an amp and sub. The install was per their directions, no deviations. The sub is wired to the amp. I don't know what the red and white wires coming from the convertor to the amp are for but for the price I paid for the kit my guess is that amp is also connected to all speakers via the RCA connectors.

Ok so the sub is strictly bass. You need the wire mentioned in the video earlier in this thread to make the dsp amp come on.

My pizza just got done and Im starving so Im going to eat real quick. When I get done I will find which page has the video and put the link on this page.

So brb after food.

I did have front to back fading and left to right balance from the nav unit.

Where does the RCA cable attach to the head unit?

You wont use the rca jacks from the head unit since your amp is just for the subwoofer and not for the regular speakers.

Let me find that video now.

Ok in nutshell put everything back like it was before the new radio and then plug the new radio into the harness in the dash.

Find this white wire mentioned in this video and attach it to plug 20 blue wire.

Should have sound.

The entire video is taken at the radio. The only factory harnesses are the flip open blue and white connectors that went to the old Nav. I don't see a way to connect them to the new unit. What am I missing?

^If it's anything like my Avin install... you will need to run the long radio extension that some of these come with (some are optional) all the way to the front of the car. The 2 plugs, blue and white, don't get used.

Remember my picture of my gutted interior? That long extension was the main reason for doing it.

Ok keep getting mixed up since I was set in my head you didn't have nav already.

Plug 20 has to connect to the white wire at the radio where the provided cable hooks up to take the radio out of the circuit so to speak.

One end hooks to the seicane radio the other end hooks to the cable you disconnect from the factory radio unit in the hatch area under the spare tire.

In that harness that came off the factory radio in the hatch area you will white wire one side of the plug and it should have a blue wire mating to it on the seicane harness that doesn't go anywhere. Its about 3 or 4 inches long best I remember. You hook the wire your running from plug 20 to the blue wire on the seicane harness in the hatch area that goes thru the connector to the white factory wire.

Does that make sense?

I sent a pm to see if he wants to do this on the phone to make it easier. If he doesn't I understand but it would make it faster

Its hard wording stuff like this at times this way.
