Hi Bcredliner, so an app on your Seicane can actually access the functions of the oem dsp? Like selecting concert hall or jazz eq settings?

I have a 2003 4.6is with factory nav and logic 7 dsp. What accessories and cables would you recommend I buy if I decide to install the Seicane? Assuming I want to install the bluetooth mic, the tv tuner, rear view camera, the front camera, and the ability to record either front or rear camera feeds?

Much obliged!

The N7 would be the same thing as the other units with the usb adapter and the ibus app.

The real difference is price. The N7 is going to cost you double what the radios in this thread cost with the ibus adapter. Also the ibus app used in this thread has a bunch more features than the N7 provides from what Ive read.

Hi Crowz, the ibus app allows us access to all the information provided by the car's ibus? Can you list a few of the information? I'm assuming there's dsp eq settings, time, date, mpg #1 and 2, etc?

What's the usb adapter used for? is it the 2 usb ports coming out of the Seicane unit?

Depending on the accessories you purchase with the N7 it can be twice the cost. You can't mirror an iPhone with the Seicane and even though they say it is plug and play with DSP, my experience is it is not. N7 doesn't have the 9" screen option if that matters to you. I don't know what other features are on the N7 that are important to you that are not on Seicane. Perhaps with all considered the N7 is a better value than the Seicane for you. I would do a do a feature/benefit comparison. I would put a value of at least $100 for the US distributor for Dynavin. Seicane sales and tech support was non existent in my experience. English was clearly short of a second language, responses I got had nothing to do with the question I asked if I could get one at all. No matter what I asked them they came back with asking to send them a picture of what I bought even though I included the model number in every email. Everything went through sales. No direct communication with tech. Great benefit to be able to call US dist.

When you order the model for DSP it comes with all cabling you need. I added a 3 place USB hub and the IBUS app with DSP so cluster functions are available. I purchased their Sony backup camera and the DVD player. In hindsight I would have done that independently. The Sony camera works fine but at some point I will be replacing it with something better. I also purchased their DVD player. Cost is way too much for what I got--going to replace that as well, very cheap. Reason I bought from them was if I had a problem they couldn't say something like---I could help you if you had our product but have no idea what the problem is with those products. That was an assumption that they would have tech support if needed. Unless you are an experienced installer, I would be very leary of trying to do all you mentioned. You won't get help from Seicane tech. Some here are very helpful but to my recollection some of your goals have not been mentioned as part of any install. I ended up having to go to a audio shop where 3 very experienced techs with a $10,000 test unit spent several hours getting the DSP to function properly. Some of those hours were because of my install mistakes but DSP install is not plug and play.

Thanks Bcredliner. Still at the planning stages myself, gathering as much info as I can before deciding on which unit to purchase.

Right now I'm actually leaning just to replace the monitor screen and see if I can get the aux input to work, and possibly install an oem mp3 changer.

Yes, DSP adjustments work normally. The IBUS connector is wired into existing OE harness and connected to Seicane via USB. Be sure the license you purchase includes the DSP option.

Hi Bcredliner, you mean to say Seicane, right? Not "license" ?

IBUS Interface for BMW cars Source for IBUS connector.

https://www.ibus-app.de/index_en.html Source for license
