When you do, if you could take some very accurate measurements of the display (in mm) and photographs of the stock and replacement units from all sides. That would be great.

Thanks. Mine is beginning to die. It will sometimes come on right away and sometimes I would have to wait for 5 minutes before the display would come on. Everything else works fine except for the display delay. Crossing my fingers this solution will solve my problem.

This sounds more like your nav computer is dying rather than your screen being the problem.

I did an extensive search and deduced it could be either, with the nav computer coming out on top as the possible cause. Then, my indy says he's changed the screen in a few X5's and it solved the problem. So, I may just wait till the screen goes totally blank then deal with it.

I Sourced out of Hong Kong. I was unable to source it within the USA. Took me an hour to replace it, start to finish. But it could be done faster. I was taking pictures with my cell phone of the steps. Minimal tools necessary, but no ham fisted mechanics need apply. These components are delicate, and cleanliness is a must Total cost was $138.00 for the screen and $26.00 for DHL delivery. Payment was done by Paypal. It took one week from payment to delivery to my hands.

If there is any interest, I could put together a DIY. To date, this seems to be the least expensive way to update the monitor screen. I am amazed at what I was putting up with.
Hello Corima,
I am very interested replacing my LCD panel. Could you please post some photos of installed screen?

Thanks,
John
