All of the fasteners were good save the front tension arms connection at the bushing to the subframe. Those were considerably loose. Sounds like what my front end knock was. Definitely solved mine.

160,000 miles and the old girl is starting to complain. I have a knock in the right front end that I can't identify so far. I replaced these arms back in April and the noise started a few weeks later. I did recheck all the torque on those bolts and I did preload the suspension before tightening.

Well always go back to the problem when it started. I got back under there again to check the tie rod end nuts and they were tight. So I grabbed all the wrenches again for all the arm work I did and started going back through all the bolts I had removed to install the new arms. On the shorter arm (in the image above)on the front right I had at least 50-75 ft/lbs on it but when I really gave it some muscle, it began to turn. I mean it was tight but I was able to get 1/2 turn on the nut with as much pull I could get with a wrench and limited workspace (car on ground). It may take a couple of days before I can say I solved it but I am encouraged.

So funny. I totally had this problem at the start of the year. Took a bit, but it was exactly this. Mayeb a solid prcatice is to reinspect and retourque a few weeks after install.

Absolutely. Drove me crazy for a couple of weeks. I never would have thought that loud knocking/clicking was a bolt that already had some stout torque on it. Just not enough.

I'm sure this would work with the factory head unit but I think you need the factory TV module along with the factory navigation. I have not personally done this install for the factory navigation systems but there are a few of our members that have.

My am converting my X5 over to the android system and putting the camera in ahead of time was just to get it out of the way. It does take a few hours to do it right.

Replaced the F/P/S window regulator and accelerator base plate.

Replaced the front o2 sensors the other day as I already had the truck in the air and had the sensors sitting on a shelf. I had the reinforcement plate off for inspection so made the job fairly easy.

Took out the thin dealership oil and put 20w50 in + lucas oil stabilizer. Also going to add a bit of at205 in there for good measure. Temporary measure to keep the freshly degreased engine from getting filthy again before I do all the seals. Spent a good couple of hours in there with brake clean, purple power, and water. I hate working on oil soaked engines.

Waiting for my aero kit to get back from the body shop... can't wait to drive the truck again and see if tightening the front tension arms at the subframe cured my clunking. Can't believe I did not torque them on initial installation. Or maybe they loosened. Yeah that's it, maybe that's what happened.

Retrofit sunglasses holder to my 4.8iS. Part number below for anyone who wants to do this. Bought part via my dealership for $50. I may be possible to get it a little cheaper on eBay. I just swapped over all my other controls (Sunroof button, garage opener, SOS/Phone, etc) Very easy to do - just (4) torx bits and unplug electronics.

Yeah I just unplugged my IUST module.

I don't forsee anyone trying to steal my vehicle from the inside haha
