So we're just going to post what we've done and not discuss it on an automotive forum? Sounds like a great idea. Remember, the PM system on this forum is terrible. It doesn't save sent messages and has a ridiculously low inbox limit for non-Premier members.

If you feel so disrespected why keep checking in here? I'm sure no one is intentionally trying to disrespect anyone. I certainly am not.

That means completed projects. It is not intended for chit chat. If you have questions that are off topic use the PM option. There are numerous threads about updated nav/radio, bluetooth, USB, Aux. They are easy to find with the search feature. There is a DIY section where there are threads of most anything you would ever want to do to your X5.

When will you guys stop being disrespectful to members by misuse of this thread?
Well someone is bound up...

I don't know. I don't think so. It has an aux port.

Disrespectful? How is that disrespect. Do you even know what the word means.
So everyone just chimes in and say what they did and that's it?yeah. Real great thread. How dare anyone ask something. Then those in the know could maybe direct them to said threads that have been discussed so many times.
I'll tell you what, your post is disrespectful, since you're in here just flipping out over dumb shit.
If you want to be so helpful. Why not post the damn thread to help folks.

Not bound up at all. Certainly some questions and comments are appropriate.

I have never had a problem with the PM function. It works just fine. It may be something on your end or you can contact one of the admins for help.

The search function will pull up many great threads about updating the audio system and features going many years back. I always try that first. A lot better than using this thread. If your question isn't answered in the thread you can ask it there. Rather than going to everyone it will put you in touch with those that have the most knowledge or have done what you are planning.

Our audio systems are very outdated and there are several made for E53s options to get all the latest features and benefits. I suggest considering an Android based system if you intend to keep your X5 for a reasonable length of time. If that is not the route you want to take might search Ebay for a Mediabridge. I don't think they are available any more but you might find a used one. That would give you bluetooth, handsfree phone, aux and Sirius radio if you add the module.

If the forum is worthwhile to you becoming a premier member is a good way to show your support.

If need help with search function or something you are doing feel free to PM me anytime. If I can't help I likely can recall a thread that can which would help with Key words for search.

I suggest you reconsider adding insults to your posts.

Oh now you want to help? Did you do anything to yours? Don't think so. Better not post anything.

So of 1,239,377 views there are 9895 replies or posts. That's basically 0.79% of activity on this thread. I don't think anyone here is clogging up this thread. This forum has a handful of active members and I enjoy reading anything from anybody and learn every day from the members on this thread and others.

You can see messages in your "Sent" messages folder? Mine reads 0 and has for a very long time. Other members report the same. This function used to work, but it's been quite awhile. You are a premier member so you have no real limit on your inbox either. I think the non-premier limit is 50. That's almost nothing at all if you are using the system to go back and forth on a topic. Crowz and I had 10+ I think alone when he was helping me with a solar system setup. Let alone saving PM's for future reference. I have hundreds on other car forums.

You have been around the e53 a long time, and have very helpful posts giving out good information in many cases. But then the other posts are just antagonistic and sometimes (as in this case) crotchety. Just loosen up a little and allow the knowledge to flow through natural conversation that comes up during the course of normal forum use.

I didn't do this "Today" but if a fellow enthusiast was interested

OEM Aux Retrofit port
Dual USB Power Source
Firefly

Dual power source isn't necessary, you could get away with just one. But If you wanted to charge a phone it's nice to have the second port. Firefly was purchased off Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's a great setup, if you want fully cordless functionality. It connects automatically when you enter the vehicle (if your BT is on your phone). Simply select mode until AUX and boom In addition, if can simply be unplugged and the tray can be closed.
