I like the idea of this unit but cutting any panel is scary to me. I like to keep things in a manner where I can put the stock part back in.

what's so scary about it?put the dremel tool on it and cut it off...keep it for future re-install of your stock radio...JB weld will take care of it...

cut your hair...in the event you dont like it...glue it back on with..you guessed it.JB weld..(don't try that!)

For now Ill envy you guys. I modified the crap out of my previous 528i, but Im just extra careful with the 4.8is. I dont know why.

You know that plastic panel can be unbolted instead of cut.

Thank you everyone for the posts and info here.

Q for anyone who had factory Nav and installed the Dynavin N6: how does the On Board Computer function with it? I see OBC is supported but can you actually control OBC options?

For example: with the factory nav unit, if you push and hold the button on the turn signal stock it goes into program mode from which you can select which items come up on the dash display.





Also can you actually recalc the milage?

Not true, it has to be cut on non-nav models, I installed a Hualingan last summer, plus there's a loooooong thread about the Hualingan install.

Anyone retained their OBC functionality after Dynavin Install? If not then how do you reset the OBC, can it just be done from the cluster?

Not going to work anymore...not bothered by it honestly...
