make the depth 11cm from the near side and keep the far side at 13.5cm which will give u a back angle ... this will make the door close easily ... u can also make it all @ 11cm ... this wont affect the box volume so much (it will roughly give 12.35 Litres which is almost the recommended volume)

where can i get the "crimp and snap" connectors? Does radioshack carry them also?

BTW, Awesome work. You have inspired me to do this as the next project after my Pioneer AVIC install.

Edit: NVM, found them here

Do you leave the sub un-covered or do you have the hatch in place covering the sub?

I have both options ... bass sound is better when the sub is un-covered so I leave it open unless I am having luggage in the trunk ... in this case I am putting the hatch cover back to protect the sub

0.625 cu ft = 17.9 liters
It is impossible to get this volume out of my box
You might want to try the multi-angle box mentioned earlier on this thread

....I'm going to order that 10" Pioneer Shallow Mount TS-SW251 subwoofer and build a box like yours and have my system up and running!

carlgo... Try to replace the tweeters for much better sound... BSW tweeters are excellent and very easy to install (but you still have to remove the door panels)

Just make sure it is 16cm speaker (6.5 inch approx.)
This will make it fit as I described
BSW midbasses are 13cm (5.25 inch approx.) and they are using an outer ring as an adapter

The Pioneers sold here are 1642s. The base looks to be the same as yours, but the tweeter looks more complex. I think that part is wasted because supposedly only base sounds are sent to this speaker location.

Crutchfield says theirs are sent with adapters specific to the vehicle, so the installation should be easy. They do say I will have to spice the wires. I wonder if the 5.25 size would be more compatible, more the same frequency response as original.
