Unless it fixes the issues below, I'll stick with v.29.

1- switching from NAV to the radio station display when the station is changed

2- No single button to switch between Split Screen & Full Screen

3- Worthless icons that have to be turned off each time a restaurant or other destination is selected
1.2. and 3. = behaviour by design

Just because you don't like it doesn't make it a bug

Foolish design. German navigation (Microsoft) is pathetic. They can learn alot from the Japs.

No Microsoft involved in the MK* - it's pure German and French (Siemens + VDO + Phillips CDI technology).

Honestly you make an excellent point. #1 doesn't bug me, but #2 would be my #1 most desired improvement. It's a HUGE PITA to go from one to the other. #3 is annoying and I don't even fully understand why it happens. Do you know how to turn them off actually?

All POI's are the same. When you select or search a fuel station, the while category "fuel stations" will be selected and all fuel stations will be shown as as icon on the map.

The same happens when you search for a specific restaurant - the whole food&drinks category gets selected.

To "get rid" of the icons, just select the "disable icons" on the information menu.

Hi,

I'm new to the board. I just did the V31 update on my E46 with an MKIV system. Right now I am using a copy of the 2005.1 map dvd. When I am in the address menu, I only get the Town/City option. I thought the newer updates included the ZIP option too? Do I have to run a previous update to obtain this option? Previously I was on software version 4-1/60.

You did the right thing to update the nav Operating System to V31 (4-1/100)

But the ZIP search option requires also the newer map DVD, so you need to update the map as well

^ I think your getting the map DVD mixed up with a software upgrade. New map DVD's are released every so often from Navteq, I want to say twice a year, but I'm not for certain. Software upgrades are as needed from BMW, or whomever handles that for BMW if you want to be technical.

Its my understanding, however, that your setup can technically be "upgraded" its just something the dealership has to do. And they will only do it if your really having trouble with your current version.

I think the poster above you is basically saying the link must be to an iDrive map DVD because it didn't work in his e46 MKIV system as a map DVD.

I could be wrong though, it wouldnt be the first time...
