The cache is deleted everytime the nav is turned off or when map is changed

If you notice no change in map in your local area, then that means there has been no change in the map.

Search by Postal Codes is only possible if available and enabled on the map.
If you see no option then your map does not support it.

Hi, I'm a newbie here and I have to say - this place is AWESOME. Thanks everyone for all the help here !!!
I'm a new owner of 2005 X5 4.4i and I just love the ride. It's very well equipped too (I think this car has it all). I'm having a bit issues with the bluetooth and need to get my ipod connected. (I guess I'll get the Neo Pro Link, looks like I'm gonna have to disable the 6disc changer in the trunk...)
Any better solution for an ipod ? Please ?

I got my hands on a newer map version and now I'm about to upgrade the OS. Mine is V24 (I have the MKIV) and now I downloaded and burned the V31 as an DVD in iso file. I'll try to read some more before I pull the trigger. Is there a way of checking the disk somehow ?
According to the Navigation FAQ, I'd like to get rid of the annoying "Accept" screen. Should I get some older version first (V23 in my case) and than upgrade to V30 ? Or not ?
Thanks for your help !!!

^ I wouldn't risk getting the navi system stuck in "euro" mode to remove the "accept" screen. When I upgraded to V28 (I think) mine started disappearing after XX seconds. I've never timed it, but now I just jump in the car and go, by the time I look at the screen its already cleared itself. I'd say try upgrading to the latest software first to see if yours starts auto-accepting like mind does...

Good luck!

OK I did it ! It went very smooth. I got the perspective view going too. So now I'm up to speed with 2007 Maps (but that doesn't bother me so much). Now I want to see what else can I do with my in dash screen...
Thanks and Good luck to all !

When its finished writing your new firmware cd,
Goto the car open the drivers door,
Goto the nav computer and press eject on drive,
Eject the map disc,
Switch ign to pos 1, leave door open.
Insert firmware disc into drive, follow instruction on nav screen.
Wait (approx 6 mins) till sat nav asks to eject cd and reboot.
Eject cd,
Confirm reboot.

Thats it.

Do not swich off ignition or close the door when doing the upgrade.
