Wow, besides dropping in to get more info on my busted DVD reader, I have not been in the forum much lately...

This looks great, cant wait to have some free time, after I replace my DVD reader, to install this. On my trip home for the holiday, just prior to the DVD reader going out, I wondered if anyone on the board had taken the time yet to create a good-looking night-option.

Not new to the moding process, I've changed the splash screen and a few other bits...

There are several US versions Marcus, you may need to route-a-round for them though.

After I loaded this version, my US English speaking lady started speaking British (I like it) directing me to enter motorways....

Which link should I download?

I have bmw X5 2004 mk4 firmware v24 ( 4-1/40). I would like to download one of file at first post and I would like to modify this file with my own splash screen (boot screen).

Please recommend which link that I should download. Thanks

Hi!
The Vxx is NOT a firmware, but the system software.
Download the V32 - the system will find the suitable version on the CD by itself.

take this one - its by @appy

Use this one mate and do the splash screen mod first.

Thank you ALL and especially ccfj. I have used ccfj's image above with my splash screen. Everything works perfect. I love perspective mode.

After I have upgraded and drove the car for around 30 minutes. Came back and turned off the car then quickly turn to position 1 but my splash screen was not appearing.

I have read the previous post I think PhillipX has similar issue. I will turn off car and wait for a while then try again.

Anyone got any suggestion of why my new splash screen won't come up ???

^ mine usually pops up when I unlock the car, but not if I jump out and then right back in. I think it takes some time for the system to shut completely down...

Hopefully you just didn't wait long enough.

Correct Marcus mate, the splash ONLY appears when the nav is booting from deep sleep, not just when you turn the ignition on.

Turning the ignition a minute after switch of is not enough time, it needs approx 10-15 minutes.
