Let's try with a battery disconnect:

1. Disconnect iPod from cable
2. Remove battery cables, negative first
3. Touch battery cable terminals together (away from battery) for +5 seconds, a small spark is normal as this is stored power draining from the system.
4. Allow cables to remain disconnected for about 5-7 minutes
5. Reconnect battery cables onto battery, negative last.
6. Reboot iPod by pressing on MENU and CENTER buttons for +5 seconds and then reconnecting to the DICE cable after the reboot process is completed.

Let me know if these steps correct the problem.

I did these steps again this morning, and it did not work. The only text that appears is, init, detached, and playlist.

If the iPod is asleep - this message will appear. Remove the iPod, turn it on and reconnect to the DICE after it is finished booting up.

I tried to do this, and it did not work. However, I can now get album, sel:ipod, and sel:aux. Not sure what is up, any other suggestions?

DISC1 is song selection within a Playlist and DISC2 is Playlist selection. From your description, it sounds like you are in DISC3 (Album Selection) and DISC5 (iPod/AUX selection).

The * * means the DICE cannot read the iPod - try rebooting the iPod and reconnecting thereafter.

I have tried the reset, the ipod works fine with the car, all the controls, sound, etc.. Is this a problem with my frimware, 1.2. I have also tried an video ipod with 1.1v frimware and I get the same result.

It shouldn't be - your firmware is up to date. can you verify the DIP switches on the DICE module are set to the OFF position?
