Hi Tom, need help here. I canīt get the dice inteface to work.

I just bought the interface for my 06 BMW X3. Installation was done following exact instructions from the videos and manuals for this model, and was a breeze. Problem comes when initializing. I put the ignition on and wait, even for minutes before pressing the mode button. Once I press it I can hear a strange buzz coming from behind the stereo (regular business cd, no nav, no sat radio pre-wired or installed), and then it goes back to the tuner function.

All dips are UP UP UP UP, I also tried it with the first dip down, per the manual, but then I donīt even here the buzzing behind the radio.

My ipod is a 30GB ipod video with the most current software (updated last week in i-tunes)

please help!

The problem may be with the incorrect audio input connected at the back of the radio, see the illustration below:

Swap the connector and your audio should return.

Hi Tom

Not sure if you missed my previous post but I work like some assistance if you can.

I recently bought an X5 e53 and DICE unit. I installed it myself and everything worked fine for the last week. However today every second time I started the car it failed to recognise the IPOD/DICE units and said NO DISC.

So I decided to disconnect everything and re-initialize everything. I did this but now I get text on the MID/Dash saying CORE NOT DETECTED

Once again I have unplugged everything and will waited until overnight to re-attach everything but still got the same message. Is there another step I am missing?

All switches are up and I am using a 30gb IPOD Video with 1.3 Firmware

Any help appreciated!

Thanks Tom, let me try that out and will get back to you. Hope it works!

Was the iPod still connected when you pulled your battery cables? If so, disconnected, reboot the iPod (pressing the MENU+CENTER buttons for +5 seconds) and reconnect after the reboot process has completed.

Hi Tom
Everything was disconnected and IPOD reset. I am going to try on the weekend to pull everything apart, disconnect the battery and leave it a an hour or so before reconnecting.

I'll let you know how I go. Thanks for your reply.

Do you know what the CORE NOT DETECTED message means?

Cheers
Ben

Ben,

This means the DICE is not properly detecting the iPod.

Hmm... AUX doesn't seem to work either. Do you think a different IPOD will work or the problem is with the Unit?

The fact that you have a CD Changer selection and the "CORE NOT DETECTED" message means the DICE is properly working.

can you confirm the DIP switch settings on the module are all in the UP UP UP UP positions?
