I was able to test both the 5G with downgraded 1.1 firmware and back at 1.2 firmware, and a 5.5G with 1.2 firmware on a 2002 M3 w/ NAV with no dropouts or delays.

When you hear the dropout, have the iPod in your hand and see if you can feel the iPod's HDD accessing.

OK I'll see if it is spinning...

when I go to lunch.

HDD not spinning when I hit next...

Should it be?

The iPod has only a 32mb buffer, it will access if the next track is pressed multiple times or if the filesizes are large.

Do you have another iPod you can test with to see if you get the same results?

I only have one iPOD but

I will look around the office and see who else has one I might try. What did you do to resolve the same symptoms with the other poster...POST 117?

I've already been in contact with him, we are going to have his module exchanged when he arrives in the country.

Yikes, Does this mean I need a second replacement?

I am certainly appreciative of your customer service...

Do I need to send this one back too?

Do you plan to be in the LA/OC area anytime soon? I would like to have your kit datalogged while still installed, we can check on the spot to see if there is an issue with your specific system or not.

Email me directly at [email protected] and we'll make arrangements.

Was Just in LA last week...

It will be a couple of months before i am back again. I am not sure how to proceed here. I was very excited about this product and happy to be able to support a board sponsor.

Your customer service has been stellar, but I am not sure how far I am willing to go with this. I am a patient and understanding consumer, but I am not ready to make a special trip North for this.

I suppose it is completely possible that I have received a second bad unit. The replacement fixed my first problem right away, but unfortunately has replaced it with another problem. I was actually glad to hear that someone else was experiencing the same thing.

By the way, the car is a 2005 4.8is and this is the only modification to the vihicle whatsoever. They did put a new TCU in last week at the dealer under a Technical Service Bulletin, but I do not believe that would influence this.

Tom, I am open to suggestions, but would like to get this resolved ASAP. Perhaps we should get DICE to replace the whole kit, I will reinstall everything from the ground up, and we can cross our fingers...

Thoughts?

Tom
