The current vaccines were completed in 9 months and therefore have ZERO long term effect studies.
The acceleration of the COVID vaccine development did not alter any of the historic required steps and had no impact on level of success.

The vaccines were at 1st said to be 90 odd percent effective at keeping you from catching covid19, then it was keeping you from getting symptoms, passing it on and now it's only effective for maybe 6 months.
Treatments and understanding of the virus evolves as more is learned. The six months estimation of effectiveness was related to natural immunity from having the virus. More has to be learned for verification. That is why it is recommended to get vaccinated anyway.

The CDC, WHO and most other doctors are now completely dismissive of natural immunity yet before said immunization of say varicella recovered patients is contraindicated. They are not dismissive. They just isn't enough validation to take a position.

The only thing political about it is the same fucktards who scream "My body, my choice" for abortion (killing of a distinctly different individual) now say "Your choice is affecting others" (the vaccinated MAY get it from you!!) That kind of bullshit mixed messaging doesn't inspire the warm fuzzies, especially if you've seen or been around other things the government has done in the past. I'm vaccinated are you? If we met in high concentration of people would you have a mask on? I would. Our choice to not be vaccinated or wear a mask in closed quarters can affect others. We have the freedom to make a choice but our freedom ends when it affects the freedom of others. That's not a political position or have anything to do with ones position on abortion. The baseline is if the majority of US citizens followed the guidelines recommended by worldwide health organizations we would have "warm fuzzies" because we would be back to a new normal. Any correlation between a group's position concerning abortion should not be a part of decision to follow the guidelines or not. ds

As for people not understanding and being dumber than a bag of smashed assholes? Well I guess they just go online and type some bullshit and attribute stuff to a different political party since they have NO critical thinking skills and just parrot what they hear from whatever talking head they listen to since their IQ is generally at the "bag of hammers" level.... I don't understand the reason for this or what people you are talking about.

So the vaccine will get us back to normal? Once 100% get the shot and the boosters every six months till the overlap is at 100%?

Since the effectiveness has shown to be less and the percentage of breakthrough cases in the non-familial study I posted hit such a huge percentage..... let's just say it doesn't look effective compared to the claims.

Why is it that antibodies from previous infection is totally discounted, when it has shown to have a stronger and broader response?

I see you are in Canada. Canada has been more successful curbing the virus. Canada acknowledged the Covid threat very early on and implemented testing, the use of masks, appropriate mandates and vaccinations, as knowledge from research developed, as experts found the way out of the woods.

No idea...I don't know you, other than reading your posts.

I was simply commenting that it seemed to me EODguy probably had passed on getting the shots based on his posts.

We do have several friends here in western NC and in SW FL, that have tested poz for CV19, well after both shots.

All are Geezers like me, and while a few have been 'quite' sick, none have had to do the hospital stay dance, and all are back to 'normal', though long term effects are not quantified currently.

I have an immune situ and have been battling back from being stricken with Transverse Myelitis 3 1/2 years ago. I was concerned about the mRNA shots, (any kind of flu or other 'immunizing' shot for that matter), and its effects on my immune system 'cells', T et al, going back into 'attack' mode, post shot(s).

My Dx'ing Neuro, who saved my fanny 3+ yrs ago, rec'd I get them vs risk CV19 and the hospital and intubation, etc. I rolled the dice and got them in May...I will get the M booster as soon as it is available.

Like we often say on the various car boards, YMMV.

I agree with your doctor. Take the lesser of two evils.

It’s really pointless to argue the negative side of the vaccine. There are no perfect antidotes. But compared to the actual damages to ones body Covid 19 could cause, it’s really a no brainer decision to get the shot.

Glad your gamble paid off. I count everyday I’ve free of this god forsaken virus a blessing.

Got mine back in January and March, looking to get the third one soon.

Glad you are doing well/dodging the fookin Cooties.

We severely curtailed our usual social activities about 20 mins after the crap hit the fan, early 2020.

Other than seeing our adult Kidz/Granddaughter several times, chasing the ball 3 days a week, (separately with our own gender groups!), and occasional slight social stuff but being very cautions, we haven't done much of the usual.

Annual 'vacay' like trips have been cancelled, rebooked, cancelled again; not worth the hassle, esp over oceans/big buck biz class flights that get tossed around like bus routes), a different protocol for almost each county, daily changes to 'what', etc.

NEway, waiting for the dust to settle, but at 74, 'wait until next year' rings a bit hollow.
