America built and maintain military bases all over the world. You of all people should know that money sent to foreign countries is used to compensate the foreign countries for the use of the land and infrastructure that is used to support those military bases.

I agree there are problems at home that don't seem to be addressed as well as they could be but that is not to say there aren't programs attempting to do so. They aren't ignored.

Money spent abroad, among other things, is to build loyalty on a broad basis and with our allies. It is also focused on expanding democracy.

IMO it is necessary to do both and I think that is possible. It is a matter of budget focus and bi-partisan support of targeted, effective programs.

CW, an example would be if I was angry at what you have said (even though we've never met, nor talked directly) and said to the others on here that you had done a horrible crime like xxxxx and that's why you said or acted the way you did. That would be my opinion and would have no basis in fact. I do it too although I try not to.
I get that several of the people on here dislike or hate Trump because of what he's said, but it is difficult for me to understand how people can hate someone they have never met, whose policies have helped the United States. I know so many people say "oh, he screwed up the coronavirus response" yet 90% of the things people say should have been done are things that are only in the States power or if we were under a dictatorship.
I truly think that Biden will be bad for America (based on his 39 previous years as a senator) and the plans he has advocated.

Trump has screwed up so many other things than the pandemic response.

I don't hate Trump. I do believe his is the worst president that I have ever read about or been around to see what good or bad they have done.

It is not necessary to know one firsthand to come to an accurate evaluation. Using the adage that "actions speak louder than words", it should be clear that Trump's words have been his actions and both speak to his despicable character. Are you saying we can't come to a conclusion that Hither and Charles Manson were terrible human beings because we haven't met them?

It doesn't take a dictator to support and promote the wearing of masks. It doesn't take a dictator to support and promote the WHO and CDC guidelines. It doesn't take a dictator to accept the the seriousness of the pandemic. All he had to do was tell the truth and he didn't. Supporting those vital necessities would have significantly lowered both the number infected, hospitalized and deaths.

The hard truth is Trump actions were those of a dictator that is not a part of a democracy. His position is and was--it is as I say it is and if you don't support my stance you will suffer my revenge. His position on the pandemic has been it is no big deal because he didn't want it to hurt the economy and negatively impact job growth that was his success story.

We didn't need a dictator to address the pandemic appropriately. We just needed a leader that listened and responded to the facts instead of trying to sweep COVID 19 under the rug with misinformation and lies.

When asked what changed she said.... "new president, new vaccine" so the delay was from the House not the Senate.

Pelosi previously encountered criticism for not supporting a moderate Democratic proposal, insisting on a much larger price tag. The current proposal from the Problem Solvers Caucus, a group of 25 Republicans and 25 Democrats working to find bipartisan solutions, is $908 billion, significantly less than the $1.5 trillion proposed before the election. In October, the White House had also proposed a $1.8 trillion package, roughly twice the size of the one Pelosi is now backing.
When asked about her shift on supporting the much smaller package, Pelosi cited "a new president and a vaccine."

The senate did not bring a package to the floor for discussion or vote. There was no negotiation until after the election as you pointed out. The house had voted and passed their proposal several months prior. The Senate refused to to take it up or negotiate with the house until it came done to the wire. Thankfully, a bi-partisan group came together and got at least something done.

Well said. 100% agree.

Looking more and more like Dems are going to take control of the senate under Biden’s new administration.

You’ve been saying it all along, BC. We can finally get something meaningful done in this country, now that both house and senate are under democrat’s control.

Glad they won and feel better looking toward the future. If we get Trump out of the Whitehouse before he bombs somebody or starts a civil war I'll feel even better. The protest today was just a warmup for what's to come. My bet is the protesting will grow in magnitude in DC and pop up around the country, continue to escalate to more and more violence. I suspect we will soon hear of what Trump will do to try to get higher ratings than Biden's swearing in. He is incapable of allowing Biden to overshadow him.

What is scary is many of these enablers are not stupid citizens. Many of them well educated professionals, including lawyers, doctors, college graduates, etc.

I think most of them are suffering from a serious disconnect from truth. The propaganda machine from all types of media churning out different versions of the truth and feeding their base what they wanted to hear, or tailormade false messages that are designed to gather these people under a false ideal, so that they can in turn be led to do the dirty deeds for the politicians that hides behind these growing factions within our democracy.

Truth is truth, it stands without any need for justification or explanation. It simply is.

How you make sense of the truth determines what you ultimately take away from it.

We have a growing number of citizens in this country who are being mislead by politicians with ulterior motive. These people in power are forgoing decency, common sense, loyalty to this country and most importantly rule of law, in order to gather their own base to do their bidding.

Trump is guilty of inciting violence and for feeding his supporters false claims of election fraud over the past 2 months.

He is responsible for today's violence at our capitol hill and for the death of the woman inside the capitol building.

Today's tragedy is the result of over 2 months of careful planning by Trump and his allies to stir up the angers of his supporters and to unit them to create chaos and discord among our republic.

This is an advanced coup d'etat that he has improved from his first try 2 months ago.

He needs to be brought up on criminal charges and made an example of.

A lot can happen in 14 days. Who would have thought our Capitol would be under siege and our elected officials put in harm's way? An intercontinental missile can hit anywhere in the world in less than an hour, less if it was fired from a submarine.

I see that Trump has thrown Pence under the bus. Looks like Pence has finally had enough of Trumpism and will call the election for President-Elect Biden.
