What is scary is many of these enablers are not stupid citizens. Many of them well educated professionals, including lawyers, doctors, college graduates, etc.

I think most of them are suffering from a serious disconnect from truth. The propaganda machine from all types of media churning out different versions of the truth and feeding their base what they wanted to hear, or tailormade false messages that are designed to gather these people under a false ideal, so that they can in turn be led to do the dirty deeds for the politicians that hides behind these growing factions within our democracy.

Truth is truth, it stands without any need for justification or explanation. It simply is.

How you make sense of the truth determines what you ultimately take away from it.

We have a growing number of citizens in this country who are being mislead by politicians with ulterior motive. These people in power are forgoing decency, common sense, loyalty to this country and most importantly rule of law, in order to gather their own base to do their bidding.

Trump is guilty of inciting violence and for feeding his supporters false claims of election fraud over the past 2 months.

He is responsible for today's violence at our capitol hill and for the death of the woman inside the capitol building.

Today's tragedy is the result of over 2 months of careful planning by Trump and his allies to stir up the angers of his supporters and to unit them to create chaos and discord among our republic.

This is an advanced coup d'etat that he has improved from his first try 2 months ago.

He needs to be brought up on criminal charges and made an example of.

The only thing I learned today... Was that my continued waning respect and belief in my fellow Citizens, is not going to end anytime soon. People are sheep. Seemingly intelligent people can be convinced of things I would have never imagined. But not just convinced, incited to attack our system of government.

Shame on our elected officials on both sides of the aisle. But this time around majority lies with the Republicans. Hopefully Trump costing them the Presidency, the House, and the Senate will be a wake-up call that obstruction is not what the People elected them for. And hopefully the Democrats will heed this moment as well. They haven't been a shining example either.

And shame on social media outlets for allowing this to continue. And the MSM for being so obviously slanted to one way or the other. Sounding boards and echo chambers for one's beliefs do nothing to further thought or progress. Awful day for America.

Edit:. I am not condemning all those present at the Capitol. Only those who crossed police lines and incited/participated in the assault. Regardless of beliefs, the right to assemble should always be supported. I hope all those who were there peacefully are not pursued legally or otherwise harassed.

Right to assemble under false pretenses? He’s been spewing lies and trying to galvanize his supporters to come out and support his baseless lies. Inciting violence and urging them to “ take America back” ? What’s implied there was by all illegal means necessary without regards to any rule of law.

This is sedition. And people have already died today because of one man’s selfish desire to maintain power at any costs.

He showed up to this rally and gave them the final seal of approval to rage on and do his bidding.

And we’ve all seen with our own eyes what that has cost us.

There are more rioting happening today in various state capitals. This disaster, “4 years in the making” due to “ 4 years of poison politics”, is not yet over.

Not having the ability to accept defeat and trying actively to start a coup makes this man a serious threat to our democratic republic and our ways of life.

On the positive side, Congress has certified the electoral vote and reaffirmed our next president and Vice President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

I'm sure Trump will be in jail before 2021.

And 52 arrests already because of yesterday. I believe rioters should and will be held accountable.

On the positive side, members of Congress seem to be more resolved to do their jobs. Even Lindsay Graham said enough is enough. Pence carried out his duties in a manner befitting a US VP. I heard some of the most eloquent words from both sides of the aisle. If we are looking for positives.

I agree. You have to look for the positive in everything. Hope for the better but be prepared for the worst.

Watching the mob scene yesterday I realized one thing: this is not the Republican Party I knew growing up.

Conspiracies and Qanon goes hand in hand and many of these fine folks have been led astray. So deep they do not realize that their anger is misplaced and based on a calculating lie repeated over and over by their beloved leader.

"We're going to walk down to the Capitol. And we're gonna cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. And we're probably not going to be cheering, so much for some of them, because you'll never take back our country with weakness, you have to show strength and you have to be strong,"

Thinly veiled order to have at it, do your worst and force them to turn over the election results.

If this becomes a pattern in every 4 years, trump is going to become the sinner who brought down American democracy.

Trump is not at the "karma is a bitch" point for him. I don' think being jailed would get him there and I don't expect that to happen anyway. If the 25th amendment is utilized he would become the worst he can be. A malignant narcissist when cornered escalates their behavior to violence if necessary. As long as trump has a forum for his revenge and his followers he will not back down or back off.

The Biden administration will be a voice of reason that we haven't had in 4 years. Those who support Biden will no longer have to deal with the disgust, anger, and frustration created by Trump. That's good!

It is clear Trump supporters don't accept anything other than Trump's rantings. They will find somebody to continue to represent them if Trump does not. They want to be angry and lash out and must have a champion to validate their beliefs and feed their anger.

Right now they see Trump faltering. The response will be to create a louder voice using violence. I am fearful of what could happen prior to Trump's oust and during at least Biden's first 100 days. I would take the inauguration indoors to an extremely secure area with no public audience. The craziest of the crazy are going to be coming out and their voice will be gunshots. Based on yesterday they have reason to believe they will have an opportunity.

At some point I think Trump will be a man without a country, that will the "karma is a bitch" point for him.

Try and reduce his media influence. Take away his ability to gather massive extreme right wing rally.

The move to impeach him again could potentially tarnish his reputation in the eyes of his base and wake them up to the lies he’s been feeding them all this time.

He basically threw his supporters under the bus when he denounced the action of the rioters yesterday. The very same people he incited to commit crimes and insurrection against our democratic republic.

Take away his others media accounts every time he posts lies and try to incite violence or encourage dissent against our government.
