Not today, but yesterday I replaced two ignition coils, changed the oil and filter, replaced the hood and liftgate struts, made two ramps out of a pair of 10' 2x12's, and installed a new battery... busy day.
I also tried to completly fry my eeprom with a ham handed attempt at re-coding my temp gauge. But I got saved by Overboost.:thumbup: |

I went out and looked at my side glass too and sure enough. Sekurit St. Gobain... |
Dropped the truck off this morning to have Xpel done. Hope to have it back Thursday or Friday. First time it's been driven on a public road in over 2 months. I can now confirm that the loose suspension clunk I had from the front end despite having all new components was due to a loose front tension arm bushing bolt/nut. That was the only one that took significant turning to reach torque spec... I think it was a full turn or more. Truck feels VERY tight now.
So with the garage empty I did some sweeping and decided to work on some small things. Got the rear emblem mount plasti-dipped and used a couple of coats of glossifier for a slight shine. https://i.postimg.cc/xjPzdHD7/20190204-224923.jpg Also finished cleaning up a test wheel from the parts truck. The heavily abused 19" chrome style 132's. I'm not a YouTube reviewer or anything... but I am going to do a video review on Meguiar's chrome wheel cleaner $7.99 at O'Reilly. I was THAT impressed with it. Stuff destroyed a product 2.5x more expensive (Chemical Guys) which was basically useless. Check this difference out. Before: https://i.postimg.cc/qRxzzfYn/20190203-112815-HDR.jpg After Chemical Guys + agitation with boar's hair brush: https://i.postimg.cc/mDsPLZdB/20190203-114159-HDR.jpg After Meguiar's Wheel Cleaner + agitation with boar's hair brush: https://i.postimg.cc/1XR4FChd/20190203-123726.jpg After 2 applications of Meguiar's Wheel Cleaner: https://i.postimg.cc/kGjGvQ7g/20190203-132919-HDR.jpg Total cleaning time per wheel with Meguiar's would be about 20 minutes in this condition. I used to spend 2 hours on a wheel that looked like this and not get as good a result. If you are interested this is the stuff and is made in different flavors for chrome, aluminum, etc but I'm sure they are all fairly similar: https://images.oreillyauto.com/parts...rimschrome.jpg Upon searching for that image there are already some YouTube reviews out there... maybe I'll skip that. But this stuff is GOOD. |
Wow, that is impressive. I'll try to pick some up tomorrow. O'Reilly's right down the street from work.
Thanks for the effort and the pics, looks great. |
I have chrome wheels on my f250. I will give that a shot for sure.
