Finished installing my rear fog light install.

Switch arrived from Latvia in good shape.

The biggest PITA was fishing the wire from the new headlight switch to the LCM box on the pax side lower kick panel.

But all is well and I have rear fog functionality

Will try to wrap the wire with red tap or something. Can't be seen when closed though...

cheers yeah....I shoulda known it when I popped the strut dust cap off and saw a rusty lock nut...

and to make things more of a challenge, I had disconnected the battery and mindlessly closed the boot while having a Corona to celebrate how clever I was... ;)

I love when I do that! I have a missing door handle (broken dhc haven't had time to pull it out and repair yet but already pulled the handle: i could still open the door if I pulled hard enough I wanted to eliminate the chance I would destroy the dhc past repair, so I removed the handle). I have many times let the door shut and I have to reach inside to use the inside handle.

You can open the hatch from inside and you can also apply 12v at the B+ under the hood to operate the tailgate.

For future reference (to all readers): when you disconnect the battery, push the latch shut with a screwdriver etc to make it impossible to close the hatch. You won't be able to unlatch until you reconnect the battery. You can put a sheet of rubber or foam over the latch to avoid the nearly inevitable slamming the hatch into a closed latch.

Another way that I choose to block the tailgate from slamming latched on me when the battery is disconnected is to place a towel over the tailgate latch.

Exactly what I meant by a sheet of rubber. Towel would do the same thing

I just open the lower tailgate until work completed. :D

Switched out the red third brake light for the clear version that was on the parts truck. Love it... though this is a pretty garbage picture of it. Wife thought it was way better now that it matched the clear signal lights as well.
