Originally bought some cheap ebay replacements that the pictures showed only DOT markings on the lens but when I got them they had the stupid manufacturers name on it too "Winjet" and my OCD wasn't happy but said f-it and put them on anyway. They got water in them the next day after a snow storm so got OEM instead:

Replaced a leaking windshield washer pump.

Changed the other two pumps as well since I had to empty and remove the tank and gave them all new bushings/screens.

Also put new springs on my rear hatch struts to assist in popping the latch free.

I had this happen with the same set. Be turned out there was a plastic butt causing the bulb to not seal.
Cut that off and been fine ever since

Yellow for true fog performance or 5K for just matching/match lights.

today (well yesterday) I had to drop the sump to verify my timing guides had gone, and yeah, my timing guides have gone :(. 161K on origional guides, not done bad,
so on ebay I went, so far bought lower guides, and huge chain along with the 2 small chains, and the timing tool kit, £400 later .
now got to get the list of gaskets,
oh and getting my vanos rebuilt
but on a plus my headlights look good :):)

I've done this process a couple times. I figured out a couple key tricks to rebuild the vanos: pretty amazing for like $60 refresh a $550 part literally better than new. Were you planning to do the vanos refurb yourself or hire out?

I think the kit I used came from GAS. (German auto solutions)

there is a guy about 20 miles from me that refurbishes them awaiting a price ,
but I know the refurb kits arnt that expensive

andrewwynn 02-15-2019 05:24 AM

I destroyed an internal o-ring during the exchange fortunately the kit comes with a "learning curve spare". I figured out a trick that is way better than the kit's direction. That's why I asked if you were DIY
