Very nice Dennis !!!
Love the pics !!
How long did it take you?
So are you happy with the quality of the replacement lens (gotta link)?

Pretty nice. What did you seal the new one on there with?

I think the whole process took 2-3 hours. This is the second one I’ve done. First being the Driver’s side months ago. I used a black gasket maker to seal them up. I’ll take a look to see if I can get a link for the ones I’ve bought. I purchased from two different Chinese sellers. One of them came with an AL logo on the lens(American Lighting? As in one of the manufactures of these headlight assemblies). The other didn’t have any logo on it.

The drivers side has been on the X5 for around half a year and I’m happy with it. Will see long term how it lasts.

It was a PAIN to take out the passengers side. I ended up unclipping part of the bumper to take it out. Newtis.info makes it seem easier than it is to take it out

Did you get plastic of glass replacement lenses?

I need to replace both of mine. Dreading the thought of the amount of work involved.

Also, if I were to do mine, I would probably try to retrofit a better Corona LED to replace the non LIC ones... Still have to research this...

Fixed my trunk... could not open it! Had to take off that mechanism...because from under wd40 did not help! Now it is opening very smoothly! Put the glue between those trunk plastics! Hope no more disturbing noise while driving through bad roads :Dhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...85d7d82f42.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f016c9e4c8.jpg

Yes they were plastic.

One thing I should note, when cleaning the plastic internals before re-assembly. You have to be extremely careful. The paint comes off those parts very easily. Especially the shroud around the projector.

I have heard of guys repainting the inside before attaching the new lens. :)
