gentlemen, i am happy to report that this thingamugig has successfully connected to my X. was able to do quick test and quick delete. next thing for me to do is to activate auto doorlocks (Personally, I don't like auto locks but the wife demands it). anyone know if I csn turn off the annoying seatbelt warnng sound?mamba, after running vmware, i opened english dis and then i got a message saying 'restoring session' after which i was brought to the admin interface for connecting to the head. i hit connecting button and connect successfully. then i went to diagnostics to do a quick test and quick delete.

Your auto door locks can be programmed as part of the CKM (Car Key Memory) or the Car Memory. So if you have one key and your wife the other you can make it so her key locks upon take off and yours doesn't.

Houston, we have a problem. Tried to activate auto doorlocks but after it told me to confirm auto ignition on and obd cable connected, it gave me an error saying something like 'VIN, ZCS FA info cannot be read from control unit". Quick Test still works and it is able to identify all my installed components under Diagnostics.

Hmmmm.....
Car Coding/Programming software not working? Or is there something I need to unlock first?

Time to test el cheapo 'customer support'.

What that error is telling you is that the software cannot read the car's vehicle order i.e. all the options it has fitted. I presume you are trying to do this with the DIS software not the SSS? I can't help you with the aftermarket gear you are trying to use.

Not sure but weasel said something about if your X is coded with newer version software you could not use the older software to code/program. For example, I use DIS v43 now but if I later use DIS v44 on my X - I can't go back and use v43 successfully.

Maybe you need to use SSS which is the software used after v44. Again, I don't really know. Hopefully weasel or killcrap might be able to shed some light.

Thanks Jose! Correct or not, that kinda makes sense. I'm sure this car was subjected to some prgram changes when it was still in San Francisco as the DRL's are now off. Maybe a newer version was used then.

Mamba, got your message. Will look into that.

Vehicle Order Number question

Is there a way to display the VON with the GT1 using SSS? I can get it when I'm about to program a module, but I was wondering if it can just be displayed. Thanks, Chuck I

I don't think this is correct for coding modules, but it is correct when reflashing them with software updates.

Yes, when you go to recode the KOMBI. I posted this earlier in the thread with heaps of screen photos.

Does anyone know why in my E39 doesn't have the audible option in GT1 and SSS?

My friend has audible beep activated on his E39 and brother has it activated on his E46, but the option isn't even on his E46 even though it's activated.

Any ideas about this ?
