Bought tires for the X yesterday (something I will have to get used to $$$). Today, been waiting most of the day to go pick it up from getting windows tinted. Washed it, then of course, it had to rain in Seattle. Ordered a wheel repair kit from BavAuto and that's about it.

Awesome. Wish I had a powerful PC and time to learn CAD.

Oh and also a mill I guess.

Could you possibly mill a S/C pulley spacer? I have washers now but it would be great to get the mass down.

Right now that's my "perfect world" scenario....I won't know what's possibe until I physically have the new fogs in hand.

It's a good skill to have....I'm by no means an expert with the stuff, but simple items I can tackle. I'm just lucky that the guy we deal with who happens to run a shop with 3 water jets, 2 mills and my personal favorite (they just acquired) a laser Cutter; is always happy to take on some of the odd requests I bring him!!

Since you're just using washers at the moment, I'm going to assumed that the spacer is essentially a cylinder with a bore through the middle? Something like that should only take a few mins to whip out on an old school lathe. A spacer is relatively simple to do...my suggestion would be to find a machine shop, grab a small chunk of aluminum and get them to go to town! If you want a CAD drawing, shoot me a PM Witt the specs And I'm sure we can work something out though!

10-4 on the machine shop, and correct on the cylinder shape. It has an ID, OD, and roughly .25" thick. It's not a crisis, just something I want to tidy up. Prefer to take measurements with calipers, and fab an AL part with that level of accuracy.

Sounds like some fun toys you have there!

Two CV axles replaced and an oil change done as well. About 2.5 hours time to do all of it. That is about two hours less than the time it took to replace the ribbon cable in my cluster. Car drives smooth and is nice and quiet when I turn!
