Me too, and someone speculated on this before. I don't know how top view is activated so I'm curious to hear from LeMans or someone that has it.

Top View is activated any time you shift into reverse or when you push the Park Distance Control button on the left. When you are in Top View if you push down on the iDrive knob you get the rear view. That is how it works on my 2010 X5 35D.

Great to know. So a separate button isn't really necessary then.?

If you drive like me 12 in the 50I and 16 in the 35I haha but with a soft foot you can surely do better...look on the x6 forums to gauge what is possible with the tt8 ...my guess is the difference in mpgs for most would be 4mpg give or take a few.

I'm a newbie to the boards and I'm hoping to purchase my first X5 as soon as the 2011 model starts shipping. Before I make the decision to get the 2011 I did have a couple questions.

Based on the US price guide it seems that the style 214 wheels will not be available for the xDrive50i. Is that the case or have I misread? I cannot say that I am a fan of the style 336s and paying the hefty premium for the style 128s or style 215s seems absurd.

When configuring the 2010 X5 on bmwusa.com, if you select the nappa leather ($2400 option) it also selects the nappa leather for the dash and center console ($1900 option) but it doesn't add the latter to your MSRP. I suppose it is bundled in the original nappa leather option. Will that also be the case for the 2011?

Thanks for all of the great information that I have been able to find so far!

I also think this is the side-view camera... Strange the location of the button - reaching down under to press would be distractive to driving IMHO
