The revised cable will only give you USB-compliant charging support for the non-SILVERLINE models. This supports 3G touch/3Giphone and current iPods models.

In order to get SILVERLINE features, you need to upgrade to a SILVERLINE kit.

The newer silverline for the X5 connects through from the front right? So I wont hear engine whine through the cable?

Both DICE kits give you full control, the newer SILVERLINE kits simply give more options.

It's up to you:

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Radio interface)
eas - 714.369.8524 | DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Radio Interface)

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Trunk Interface)
eas - 714.369.8524 | DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Trunk Interface)

The radio interface kit will connect up front at the radio itself.

I was having some trouble changing songs with my ipod touch 2g, but I figured it was the Dice. Thanks so much Tom, you've been great for these boards throughout the years!

Wow, this is such a long thread.

I am in the market to replace my ICELINK that I have in my '01 X5, but it seems that this DICE has lots of bugs.

Should I just wait a bit longer for a new system (as the ICELINK was replaced by the DICE, so the DICE will be replaced by something else)? I dont want to buy something that only half works.

DICE was just refreshed in December - it's running strong as we speak.

"the original dice compared to the Dice Silverline"

Is the only difference the connector to charge the latest iphones etc

Which can be purchased seperately anyway

Or are there other differences ?

I know that to have the nav show the name of the song, i have to navigate to track 02 on cd 06.

But do i have to do this each time the stereo has been turned off.?

The SILVERLINE added Artist directory listings, Playlist directories and 3G iPhone/2G Touch/Current model iPod charging support.

Do you already have a kit?
