Hi Robert
Do you have a Nav system installed? The connections should be behind where the cd changer would be or the Nav system is, somewhere behind the rear lights.

Yes - DICE will charge all iPod models on the market (as well as previous models).

Robert,

Are you sure your X5 is prewired for a Changer?

Just released this week, the Silverline PRO kit adds a new operating mode called SMART Mode. This mode allows users to switch between Locked and Display Modes using the Hold button on the iPod. This supplemental guide only applies to users who have selected to set the DICE kit to SMART mode. This is done using the DIP switches on the interface module.

Display mode is especially great for those iPhone/touch users and the Pandora app or internet radio.

Thanks for that Tom
But it made no difference at all. This dice does what it likes. I have to reset the dice every time I turn off the ignition, radio or use the phone. If I'm using the dice as well as the phone the engine noise comes through & I have to switch off.
When its reset sometimes the text scrolls sometimes it doesn't sometimes you can just get stuck on one playlist/album or artist & then have to reconnect the iphone.
I think I'll reinstall my cd.
Thanks
Jonny

I've tried just about everything. I pulled the cd changer and added the silverline. I connected it to the exact specifications. I can't seem to get it to read my ipod. I've actually tried 2 ipods now, mine is a ipod video 5.5 generation 80 gb with firmware 1.3, I also tried a second gen ipod nano with firmware 1.1.3.

I have a 2005 X5 no DSP with Nav.

I've disconnected the 3 pin for 1 min, 10 min, 30 min etc, and I know its the right one because the brown is on the outside and it was connected to my cd changer. I've reset the ipods, I've disconnected the entire Dice, I've disconnected the battery and reset everything on my Navigation. Nothing on the ipod changes when I plug it into the dice, and nothing shows up on the nav screen regarding a connection of any kind..

Could this unit just be DOA or am I doing something wrong or is there a simple solution I am just not doing? Please help!!!!!!!
Is this a SILVERLINE or SILVERLINE PRO? What are the positions of the DIP switches on the DICE module?

Hey Tom, thanks for the quick response.
I think it's just the Silverline. I don't see anything that says anything about PRO. I ordered it on 5/6/2009. All the switches are switched to OFF. Anything else you need to know?
