is MK4 used on 2006 E53 and other 2006 or maybe 2007 bimmers ?
I read somewhere that it still be used on some 2008 modes

If yes than I think it is possible . BUT it probably would be good to send some kind of request to BMW from many BMW customers .
HEY PEOPLE !!!! YOU are creative here !!!!! You make so much changes to your bimmers , You can make them to improve that software too .

By the way ,does anybody know why COPY DVD of 2007.2 does not want to work good on MK4 ? It is really slow and does not want to show local streets (zoom lower than 1/2 mile)

Check quality of the burn, check surface scan, check error rates. Maybe burn again if it is showing high errors.

Yes, it's still used in the 2008 MINI, but ONLY in the 1st generation convertible MINIs (which are now in their last year of production). All of the 2nd generation hardtop MINIs (and the new Clubman MINIs) use a newer MOST based nav system.

i have new NA 2007.2 and newest OS

Hi guys, just wanting to know what the definition of "perspective mode" means? I have the newest North American Navteq disc, 2007.2 and just loaded the newest version 30 to my MKIV. I've read about the "perspective mode" but not sure what it means?

I just tried updating my MkIV navi with the v29.1 and the system seemed to crash. I followed the instructions on page 3 of this thread and im not sure what went wrong. Right now, there is nothing displayed on my screen. I can hear music, but my screen is blank. What can I do? Can anyone help?

Thanks

To enable Perspective mode, it needs to be enabled in 2 places,

1: The hidden setup menu.
2: In the arrow map pointing menu and

Go to the menu screen, select set (or settings) and hold menu button for 10 seconds, when the hidden menu appears scroll down untill the perspective mode option is selectable.

Select it, then goto the map and then select it from the arrow map pointing menu.

Sounds like a corrupted OS disc image. Re-burn the image and try again, try a vanilla v28 first (to get the nav back in a usable state) then have another go at v29. (don't bother with v30).

E90 graphics on a E46 nav

After a really long wait I decided to upgrade my v28 to v29. Only problem I had was that the modification I made to the startup image was not done properly. Just redid it correctly and it worked.

During the failure I did however notice that the software although it did not have the nav menu, had everything else... looking like the a E90 nav (my car is a E46)

Which brings me to the question, there must be a way to fool the system to load the E90 color/lookandfeel for the E46 display. Does anyone have an idea?
