Do I have to update my Navteq DVD in order to see this functionality? I thought 'Zip' would be one of the Address Parameters, but it's not. (My NAV DVD is 2004.2).
1. Update to software v10.0 (on OS disc V31) to fix bug fixes

2. Update to newest map DVD for your region. Purchase new copies from BMW or map maker.

^ now V31 is out, just FYI...

I've been told there are other ways to get newer versions navteq disc's without purchasing them, but such talk is prohibited by forum rules, or last I knew, it was. Maybe someone reading these two posts can PM you AND I a source, I think I'm using a 2004.2 DVD also, its time for an upgrade...

Is there a "free" version of toast? I bought a mac mini a few months ago and just thought this was something I'd have to do at work on my PC...

EDIT: Oh, ebay is a good source for some new but mostly used navteq DVD's, be careful though, don't accidentally buy one for the i-Drive cars, they are not the same...

Thanks for the info. I did a little searching and haven't found any definitive list of updates in V31 vs V29.1 - maybe some bug fixes behind the scenes.

I don't think there is a free version of toast. Unless you go the torrent route, of course.

I'm still trying to figure out how to search by Zip Code - does anyone know if I need to update the Map DVD??? Thanks!!

EDIT - looks like you need 2006.2 or higher for the zip code functionality...

Thanks Kam. I managed to get it out, don't know how just did. I pressed the button a few times and in the end it came out. I also burnt the CD at a slower speed and try flashing again, and it worked perfect. Only thing is the splash screen has now disappeared, then again I did flash to version 27. I'll try 29 next week. Im so glad I got this back to normal, I was dreading ringing BMW and somehow telling them that I messed it up.

Thanks again.

No worries mate, I got very scared myself the first time I buggered mine up, even more when it was a mates mk3! Was dreading shedding out a bucket load for a new system for him... luckily managed to get it sorted same as you.

It should default back to the standard BMW splash, might have to wait a few minutes so it resets itself before opening again...
