After all, even dealers can do it, and have it right on quite a few occasions. Regards |

Thanks for the extra thorough explaination. I fully understand the "not disturbing the system" statement. I am quickly learning this about our bimmer.
Needless to say i haven't pulled the trigger on the V31 upgrade. Anyone ever have to have the dealer "Correct" a blacked-out Nav unit, and remember what they paid for the re-flash? |

The price they might charge is inversely proportional to their honesty. What they will do, any way, is just what you would do: i. e. Insert the SW disk, stand apart, wait, extract the disk, and press the right side button for OK. The only difference is they will probably be using the original disk. If you get your hands on a image file of an original disk (Mode2 therefore), if you burn it correctñy, if you verify the burn, if you recheck you have got a Mode2 CD (for Mk-III), if you check the resulting CD is readable in your PC, then not many things can go wrong. If things go wrong, the dealers solution is simply to try again with their owd disk. But if your disk is OK, you can do that yourself. Regards |
