No firmware updates are necessary - just the revised docking cable.

The revised cable will only give you USB-compliant charging support for the non-SILVERLINE models. This supports 3G touch/3Giphone and current iPods models.

In order to get SILVERLINE features, you need to upgrade to a SILVERLINE kit.

Both DICE kits give you full control, the newer SILVERLINE kits simply give more options.

It's up to you:

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Radio interface)
eas - 714.369.8524 | DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Radio Interface)

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Trunk Interface)
eas - 714.369.8524 | DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Kit for X5 00-06 (Trunk Interface)

The radio interface kit will connect up front at the radio itself.

I was having some trouble changing songs with my ipod touch 2g, but I figured it was the Dice. Thanks so much Tom, you've been great for these boards throughout the years!

Annoying Text Drop

I installed dice silverline in X5 4.6is with Nav but no DSP. I struggled the first few times to get the dice to integrate with my iphone. I've since done this successfully & the dice seems to work ok. The annoying thing is when the ignition is turned off the dice needs reprogramming (Disc 6 Track 6) to display the text again. Even more annoying on short journeys.
I also have some sort of interferance which seems to be being picked up from the nav disc its like an electronic screech when the music is not being played or when I'm transferring to make a call it comes through the speakers til the call is made. Incidentally I installed bluetooth after the dice. I would rip it out after sheer frustration but I invested in a spec.dock from the US & spent a good deal of time & money.
Would appreciate any help.
Thanks
Jonny
