Yes, but I just say no and continue on..the controls work fine and there is not static when the system accesses the network...

Are you still using the ice>Link? This is a DICE specific thread.

Dice works perfect - installed in 2 minutes

I know this thread is mainly to address any kind of issues around the installation and function of the DICE kits. I guess my comment is only for potential buyers who are not sure about their odds of running into installation/compatibility problems or not.
Well, here is my experience: I ordered the DICE for my 2004 BMW X5 without navigation a few weeks ago, connected the cables - and it worked like a snap. Total installation time probably 2 minutes (I am not running the cables from the trunk to the front; my iPod just stays in the trunk). Perfect - almost unexpected - experience. Since then - no crashes, no problems, no nothing. Sound is perfect (of course - direct wiring vs. my previous transmitter), steering wheel controls etc. are awsome.
Criticism, if any: It would be great if you could actually see the name of the Playlists on your radio display when flipping through them (instead of just seeing "Playlist" or the # of the Playlist). Also, once you leave the car (switch the engine/radio off and then on), the current playlist # gets reset to #1 on the radio display/control. It still continues to play where it stopped before (same Playlist and song), but if you want to go to Playlist #100, you have to push the radio/steering wheel button 100 times again to get there and not just go there from - let's say - Playlist #97 if this is what you listened to before you left your car. Pretty complicated to explain... All this is of course since the iPod stays in my trunk and my arm is not long enough to reach there while driving and choose the new Playlist on the iPod iself ;-) If you can't follow that description, just forget it and the get the DICE anyway!
It's the "near-perfect" product for your ride!

We have a DIY for Voicetags you can use - this will make the browsing experience much easier:

Adding Speech Voicetags to your DICE/iPod Playlists

Give it a try and let us know what you think.

BMW Entertainment System - overhead can I use IPOD

Tom, I have an BMW Entertainment System - overhead system and I was wondering if I could input video into this system. I currently have the VCR not DVD system. The VCR has inputs as does the pull down Alpine monitor. How can I integrate my ipod to play video and music into this OEM system? Also what dock do I need in my x5 to put my ipod in the ash tray or up front to allow the ipod to display video?

If you use the DICE along with the Video cradle, you can use the video signal in your monitors:

DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW (Trunk Interface)
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=268

DICE iPod Cradle w/ Video Support
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=269

This would be a simple install.

Yes - we will utilize the connections that are already there.
