2004 X5 What Dice Do I Need?

Got the wife a 2004 X5 3.0, Business CD, single disk no changer, non DSP, no NAV, and we have a 8gb video Nano, and an 80gb Video Classic. What do I need to get to install it to the center console?

Next upgrade Bluetooth!

Thanks,

-Brad-

Easy, here's the kit you need:

DICE iPod Integration Kit for BMW
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=268

This includes everything needed for installation except the BMW and iPod.

I just installed the DICE iPod integration and am having some serious problems with the interface. I have a 2004 X5 with the business CD radio with DSP (although I didn't need the DSP adapter during install). In order ot program the unit I turned the car on with the Ipod connected. Waited 30 seconds before turning on the radio, clicked mode twice to get from FM to CD changer. The display in the gauge cluster showed init momentarily and then showed the name of a song that was playing on the iPod, but no sound was coming out of the speakers. It also seemed as though the head unit wasn't able to change songs (based on Ipod display as I couldn't hear anything from the speakers).

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. I tried calling the DICE tech line but apparently the 2 guys that know anything about these devices were both away from their desks and I have yet to get a call back.

How about checking with us?

Do you have a CD Changer installed in your X5? If so, what connections was the CD changer using?

Hey Tom - I would have checked with you but felt bad mooching tech help out of you seeing as I bought the kit from BSW!

The truck does have the factoy CD changer. I used the 6 pin and 3 pin connectors from it. I realized this morning that I should have used the DSP adapter which I installed. My original read of the instructions had me thinking that since I had the six pin plug on the CD changer that I didn't need to use the adapter (wrong... as I did in fact have the coax connection to the amp).

Now I am able to hear the music, but I can't seem to control the song selection. The ipod does charge and I can advance within a song by selecting the manual mode of tuning but I can't select between songs. Also not getting any sort of text titles either.

At this point the device is essentially an auxiliary input and not a controller.

Thanks!
