True. But when Obama took office, I believe he had a Democratic House and Senate. THAT would have been the time to introduce the ACA. Or anything else really that might have helped to rebuild the middle class. Who controls what usually means little to the average citizen in modern politics. At least so it seems. If RBG passes away though... Hold on to your butts.

And yes, I can't wait for Mitch to leave office. One of the few politicians I dislike more than Trump. Close second for Trump, Schumer, Pelosi, and Paul Ryan.

I've never voted straight ticket, but have been tempted to vote against the incumbent throughout the ticket. Usually one race or another keeps that from happening though.

Is there any incumbent senators or congressman you like?

Will Hurd has been doing a pretty good job but is not running again come reelection. I liked Tulsi Gabbard as a candidate and from the little I know of her service in the House, I think she's doing well. She butts heads with the democratic establishment, so I see that as a plus.

There are others I'm sure but those are two off the top of my head.

Hard for them to pull through when the general public is easily swayed by massive ads from people with big personalities.

Michael Bloomberg has money to burn but he has no personality. Trump has no experience running public office but he's a number one bullshiter with a big personality.

It's sad that voters can't distinguish fake personality from actual ability.

Sending secret police to Portland to "abduct protestors without telling them who they are, where they're taking them, or why they're been arrested."

Violating every constitutional rights of our american citizens.

This is not the ways of a 200+ years old democratic country.

I've said he's the very worst president we've ever had. Obama is a saint compared to him.

In my opinion the reasons Trump is so insistent that schools open is to reduce unemployment, increase 'business' revenues of all suppliers and improve economy. Using potential impact of children staying home is a scam to justify putting children, teachers, supporting personnel and all families at obvious risk.

I think we may be getting close to point that school districts will be realistic and stay closed in areas that cases are still increasing in spite of any mandates, threats or recommendations to the contrary.

Ok that's just bullshit.

They're not "secret police" they are DHS, FSS agents and being arrested and put into an unmarked car happens in every city from local PD. The Constitution grants the authority to the president to utilize federal law enforcement for violations of federal law anywhere in the United States and governors, mayors nor dog catchers have the authority to deny them access to their state, county or city. If you're a peaceful protester standing in the middle of a bunch of folks throwing rocks, firebombs, etc you are by law a participant in said riot.

When arrested these yahoos are processed just like anybody arrested by local authorities. I get that you hate this president but at least say it's because of his policies, etc and not some lie about secret police.

Secret police if they were operating wouldn't arrest someone and let them go, they would have put a round in the rioters grapes to be shoved into waiting holes to take a quik lime nap.
The United States of America is NOT a democracy, we are a democratic republic.

Nationwide most of the schools remain closed and have no plans to reopen in the fall.

Some are contemplating a "hybrid" fall semester, where some classes are open to the students while others are online pre-recorded lectures.

That's college level. The LA unitified school district will not open for this fall either.

At least not all the stupidity that's driving this presidency are trickling down to the state level.

They are in military uniforms, driving Enterprise vans or even just a regular dodge van. Pulling innocent protestors off the street.

The explanation the director of Homeland Security used to send these agents over to Portland was because of graffitis on buildings and some light property damage.

That's all he provided as basis of him sending military-equivalent personnel to Portland.

Even the mayor of Portland, the person that the people are protesting against, for his lack of progress on police brutality issues, came out and publicly denounced the president's use of excessive force on these protestors.

You don't think this administration is blowing it way out of proportion?

Agents in military uniforms, in unmarked vehicles, snatching up protestors left and right, and using tear gas and baton to beat down "walls of moms".

That's OK?

How dangerous can a group of moms holding hands pose to the well equipped men in uniforms holding batons and tear gas?

To get Homeland Security involved, you're basically labeling the protestors as domestic terrorists.

That is both excessive and wrong.

There's no excuse.

I get that you like this president. But he's a pretend dictator running a democratic country. And you just validated his actions against the American citizens in an american city.

At a time when the public sentiment is leaning towards the black lives matter movement and increasingly distrustful of the local police, Trump decides to term himself as the "law and order" president.

Labeling the protestors as "violent anarchists". His campaign is again pitting Americans against each other.

He fails time and again to address the real issue behind the protests: the police brutality and the racially motivated violences against minorities in this country.

Instead, he turns it into a campaign strategy by turning us against one another.

Right now we're going at it, EOD, and you think i'm pro Biden and pro democrates.

But I'm actually against police brutality and the racially moticated violences.

That's the real issue here.
