Not too much lately. He sounded pretty sharp yesterday, day before? Whenever his last press conference was. His issues seem to come and go. But there are lots of instances of rambling, stammering, and forgetfulness in the last 6 months. I feel badly for him. He's had a long life of faithful public service and I just don't think his mind is up to the task. He said he would announce his running late first week in August.

He has a lot of options. Most of them have good things going for them but he wants a relationship he had with Obama, comfortable and trustworthy relationship. I don’t think he can find that from these potentials.

So Trump has been reversing course on strategies to contain the pandemic. He's now supporting the use of masks, and he also agrees that things will "get worse before it gets better."

Then last night Trump retweeted a video tweeted by a woman whom he claims to be "a great doctor".

The video says "..mask don't work, and there's a cure for covid19". She also says that "...doctors make medicines using dnas from aliens, and that they're trying to create a vaccine that make you immune from being religious".

Trump tried to defend the woman too. Saying that "they were big fans of hydroxychloroquine..." and that he thinks she's "very impressive". And he thinks "her voice was an important voice". and that "she's had tremendous success with hundreds of patients".

Then after the CNN reporter's questions, the tweets from the woman and Trump's subsequent retweets were quickly taken off from all social media platforms, Tweeter, Facebook, youtube.

The social media companies removed the videos because "there's misinformation elevated by the president."

Here's an interesting question: Who's behind the original tweeting of these videos?

Before you guys chalk this up to another brain freeze of the president, please remember that he has 80 million tweeter followers.

He has massive clout as a social media influencer. And this is the kind of trash and conspiracy he believes in.

And please do not tell me he probably doesn't believe in it.

Seriously, I have no words.

Those of you still pining for this president.... Let's just say please remember to keep your options open.

80 million Twitter followers because controversy. I guarantee you those 80 million followers include bot accounts, news media (on both sides), foreign entities, and even opposing voters. Not all of that huge number are supporters (thank goodness). If I were in charge at a social media company I would have banned him long ago. Same for anti vaxers and flat earthers. It looks like a significant portion of the population gets all their news from social media and is extremely gullible. I realize that's tantamount to censorship, but social media companies are private entities so I'm fine with them choosing appropriate content for their platforms.

IMO, at some point there will be federal social media regulations/standards just as there are for TV and movies. They will apply to both public and private companies. If left to the companies there will be no universal regulations or standards and most companies, especially pubic companies, will establish standards that generate the greatest stockholder value. Unfortunately, if that is the case, standards will not likely change much from how business is currently conducted. I see no reason that will even be worthwhile trying to do until the house, senate and administration are all of one party. And if there is major resistance from the public it could too hot of a potato to dare address by either party.

I’m not a die hard fan of either parties. But it seems to me Democrat’s policies so far has been pretty moderate compared to the new GOP, if the current administrations foreign policies are indeed the direction the new GOP is undertaking.

I don’t think Trump is a figurehead but then I also do not give him full credit for the policies of the current administration.

So people aren't bothered by the fact that the FBI and even their paperwork shows Flynn being railroaded (hence his original plea) but screw justice as he's part of a political party they don't agree with?

Wow!! That's exactly the same attitude people have in third world countries.

I don't care what someone's political beliefs are but using false/fabricated information to deprive people of their freedoms is wrong and additionally a judge is a referee so having a referee say you have to fight Mike Tyson when both Tyson and you don't want to box is just wrong.
