Picked up my new 3.0sd last week. Need opinions, keep the OEM 214's or go to the replicas? See attachments

Picked up the replicas from ABI wheels in Sydney for $2800 including Yokohama Advan ST rubber in OEM staggered sizing. Wheels are good quality with only a few casting imperfections on the inside if the wheel spokes, nothing visible when on the car, and the Yokohama rubber rides much nicer than the Bridgestone RFTs.

if you're happy with the replicas I'd stick with them

those are the same ones I've ordered but in oem, style 239. been told they'll have dunlops on them, not bridgestone

Those replica rims look great. I bought replica 168s for my E53 from ABI wheels and was very happy with them as they were identical copies. They were supplied with OEM tyres ie Michelin Diamaris. I too found casting imperfections on the inside of each 'spoke' but not noticeable unless you really know what to look for. You got a very good price especially if that included tyres !!

Are they 21" ?

I guess it was your car in the delivery bay that i saw when was I down there over the last 2 weeks. I've been curious to see how many SDs are being delivered.

Just for everyone interest, I split the sidewall of my 20" front run flat tyre this morning. Pulled up on the side of a street and hit where the outlet of a stormwater pipe of a house came out into the gutter.(like a small pothole)

Was only going slow as I pulled up, thump, 25mm split. I had 42lbs as tyre pressure. Not a mark on the rim, more a blowout.

$780.00 later, new tyre and just done 4000klms.

Ouch

heh doh
I got a puncture 6 days after taking delivery just driving along, felt a bit of a bump but didn't see anything, steering felt a little different and then the computer told me I'd lost pressure and not to exceed 80kph

luckily I'd gotten the tyre and wheel insurance so I just made a claim on that. the premium is $750 for 3 years, covering up to 4k worth of costs, and the excess is $200 per claim. so really, I paid for the tyre - but subsequent claims will work out cheaper than replacing the tyre out of my own pocket. plus the rims are covered too

I know my dealer very well and he did not thinkso, the feeling is the sidewall of this tyre may have been faulty. Yes 42lbs may not have helped but they run standard with about 36-38lbs anyway.

I thought the standard pressure for the 20s was around 32PSI.
