As an example, I looked at getting OEM rims from the US... the base cost of the rims was around $3500 USD vs. $5700 USD here. Taking into consideration the freight and packing and also the high risk of damage I bought them locally. I also have a warranty option should anything go wrong with them... in the end I could have saved $1500 (exc. freight) but considered the risks too high...Tyres I would think are equally heavy and bulky ... A set of Vredsteins here (20") is $1700 fitted vs. less than $800 USD in the US... put freight on top of that as well as someone that is willing to pack and ship internationally it's probably not worth it.. and again warranty issues if anything goes wrong....On other smaller OEM parts buying from the US is a no brainer... a $280 USD part in the US for example is $600 AUD (plus GST) here !!!!

Are they the 275/40/20 and 315/35/20 with the same weight loading as the OEM RFT's? Where from? Are they these ones?: Vredestein
I am wanting to get non RFT's before my RFT's get a puncture.
Any other options in 20" with above sizes that are reasonably priced, if there is such a thing for 20" tyres? I will get the Vredsteins if I can get them for a similar price.

Yep they are the ones... You could also go Toyos or Yokohamas and probaly Dunlops non RFT but personally I am going the Vredsteins. They have same loading. I'm getting them from a tyre place in Sydney.

I think they are non-RFT's.

Dunlop Sport Maxx are ROF (RFT) and can be repaired and I have had one repaired ..... I have found them to be excellent tyres ..... front amazing wear and rear inside wear ..... usual apparently?

Can anyone supply the specs for the rear to make sure they are done correctly

I check pressure every other week but should purchase the valve pressure monitor though!

Anyone up for a group buy of the valve pressure monitors out of Melbourne?

Hi You don't need the TPMS or valve sensors , but have a set if you want 'em !!:-) The ABS senses wheel rotation on our X5's.... I went to a tyre shop (I would say Fairly reputable) and they said the Vredsteins were in their opinion only worth what you pay for them.... they didn't stock them so maybe that's why... so I am still deciding on which tyres I can get a good deal on Good Year F1 Non RFT for about the same price as the Vredsteins... up from there are Bridgestones, Dunlops , Michelins and Pirellis.. Michelins will get approx. 20% better wear than others due to their harder compound... The tyre shop also found an issue with one of my 227M rims and I am getting a replacement from BMW as it was damaged in transit .... so I have a while to make my mind up...
