I would have thought that at least new iDrive would be on the 2010 as the US seem to be getting this as part of current 2010 build. Also (and somewhat more importantly) - sites are saying that the 2011 LCI may start shipping for US as soon as April next year. How long before Australia gets access to that model. ???

Also heard that 2011 LCI will get more powerful diesel from 735d, e.g. something like 225kw and 600 nM - does anybody know anything about this ..I don't want to place order now, receive x5 in March, then learn in April that LCI is just around the corner bigger and better ...if there was a clear year between them then ok, but this sounds like a matter of months ...
First rule is never trust a salesman... I'd suggest it will be on the MY2010 but only available in 2010 if that makes sense... a 2010 compliance model manufactured in 2009 may not have it ... Model changes occur in September each year don't they .. so 2011 is not out until Sept 2010 ? USB 6NF for example in 2007 did not come out until May production on mine... mine was plated a 2007...

Spare wheel carrier

It's ugly I know, but has anyone fitted one of these?

Yea, it's not the prettiest option but let's be honest, it's the only practical place to store a spare when traveling loaded on any adventure trip.
I think a member on here from South Africa loaded pics a while back displaying their X5 with spare wheel carrier and bull bar. worth a search.

Kasyd + Bozz,

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I couldn't find the pics from the South African member. Given the cost involved it would be nice to know how well this thing works (ie., ease access to rear cargo area; vibration and/or rattles; now sturdy it is etc).

bump! Need to keep this going as I had to go several pages back to find the oz thread.

With the TPMS (2008 X5 3.0d), are they located on the wheels? If I replace the RFT with non-runflats, I don't need to replace the TPMS?
Also, has anyone got tyres from US, worth doing to save $? Thinking of replacing the RFT's before I get a puncture.

Thanks

You don't need the TPMS sensors.. the ABS sensor is used to detect a change in wheel rotation.. to tell you the honest truth I'd prefer a TPMS sensor that told me the pressure (but not even US models get a pressure read fro memory)... I've had a flat and the Runflat monitor has not gone off...

I think the cost of the freight would be the killer here.
