don't know, mine runs just fine. I still think there are more than 15 cars made/month until you show me proof to the contrary

BMW has certainly produced models with very low volumes previously, most recently the M5 Touring (1025 units from 2007 until end of production).

Heard from dealer today. Turbos have been replaced. Should have car ready to drive tomorrow. They are planning on 600-700 miles of road testing before I get the car back. Was told that this "should be the fix" again. I reiterated my lack of confidence in the repair and diagnostic process, and reiterated my request to the dealers (as with BMWNA) to have a replacement issued.
No word yet from BMWNA. |

If you are ultimatley going to get a buyback no big deal but driving your own car to test during breakin and while you wait for the buyback decision will not eliminate you or hurt your chances of a buyback.. just my thoughts. I know you didnt ask,,

with mswaz...600-700 miles road testing, , WTF?!Is the dlr, and his joy riding gang, coughing up a month's payment for you in exchange for their valet driving style? ![]() No xpert, but I've owned a lot of cars & m'cycles over my 47+ years of driving, and dlrs or garages haven't put that many miles on all of my owned vehicles combined, over nearly 5 decades. Something is amiss, imo. GL, mD

I think that must be a misunderstanding of some kind. No one in their right mind would suggest you give your car for a 700 mile extended test drive

No misunderstanding. After first service, approximately 250 miles were put on the vehicle when I picked it up. Car went back to dealer, and then still not fixed after another almost 400 miles of testing. The regional rep from the South Carolina plant is up and has been part of the inspection/test/repair process. The service director is the one who will be driving the car. These are the instructions of BMWNA and BMW M according to him. He said to expect about 500-700 miles of driving.
I have made two payment, totaling near 3800, on the vehicle and driven it 4 days since this started in September. J |

I am not cool with it, but at this juncture I am not sure what I can really do. I have asked if I can have the vehicle back and do the testing myself. However, I am basically under the impression that BMW wants to keep the vehicle "in house" to evaluate the problem. They don't know what it wrong. Period. My vehicle is the test vehicle. On the downside, I am afraid if I insist on getting it back before they test it, it will ultimately effect my ability to get a replacement, which at this point, is the only acceptable solution.
I am not going to accept this vehicle back. Plain and simple. I have discussed this with customer relations on Monday. I am going to call him back tomorrow (I have his direct extension) and escalate it. I think that putting 1200+ miles on my vehicle is kind of past the limit. If BMW do not replace this vehicle, I will be moving to Porsche and will never be back. I have had 4 new BMWs in 5 years. I think I have been very loyal to the brand, and have always spoken highly of BMW to my friends, but I am only willing to accept so much. J |
