What about deleting the garage door opener module and getting the rear view mirror with the compass and garage door opener buttons. Then use the area that used to be the original garage door opener to build a nice housing for holding the Sirius tuner module? Just brain storming...

If X5's had a sunglass holder in the overhead area that would be great but we don't.

If I was a bunch younger and was all out on installs with no care of value of the vehicle I'd counter sink it in the dash. Not happening.

Inside the top power of the center console is looking like the best place right now. Impossible to safely see while driving though. Easy enough to flip the lid up but turning ones head that much to read the screen and choose things is beyond unsafe though.

Suggestions?

An option would be to use the Sirius app from your phone and mirror it on receiver or download app to receiver if that is possible.

Cell phone service here isn't very good around here. I even have a microcell at my house the at&t gave me to even have service at all here.

I thought of that but the house we will be moving to one day has a garage I want to use that on

But mirror option you mentioned I didn't think about so that has possibilities.

Any way of somehow locking the android head unit so in case it goes to a garage or it gets stolen so noone can access personal data from it?

Yes as in its just like locking a phone but it may make it act strange when booting up. I haven't ever done it but I have read of people doing it on a forum.

Two of my eonons have their own account. My X5 and the other eonons are on my normal phone account.

Basically I was worried when I got the first android radio and went with separate accounts. I got lazy after those

The power antenna wire and the amp power wire booth put out +12 volts when the radio is turned on.

My camera has +12 volt and ground and an rca video cable for wires.

So the +12 volt (red wire) from the camera hooks to the blue antenna wire.

Ground goes to ground where ever is convenient.

The rca cable plugs into the backup camera rca input from the radio.
