Is the appeal mainly that it's an OE-appearing unit with the latest/greatest specs? Also, when a long cable is needed to go to the connections in the back, are you guys buying those or just splicing/extending the cables that come with the unit? Seems like they charge a lot for the extra wire. Thanks, AM.

The Official Anybrand Android Radio setup thread.
Yes for me it's mainly the aesthetics of OEM looking as possible.
Not to mention the boot screen logo and splash screen is like the newer BMW Connected Drive like this: https://youtu.be/tW6AdD06O6s All other Android units you can change the boot logo but cannot change the 1st splash screen without a custom rom anr image. As for the wire I bought one from China for $20. That cost would of been about the same me purchasing the wires and extending it myself plus the cost of the friction tape.

Rear connections vary so getting the cable from the head unit supplier would be the best, IMHO. Also, I suggest a 4GB RAM processor. 2GB can get the job done but just like HP, too much RAM is just enough. ![]() Mike

Bad news, one button is flipped upside down and can't be turned. EDIT: the button can be flipped from the front -derp me- Avin software seems to not have been installed correctly. I just get stock android and the Avin software is just a warning sign. ![]() EDIT: I need to install the app first -derp me x2- Currently pretty dissatisfied, but still remaining hopeful that it will come together. Lets hope Avin will provide some support. EDIT: Avin has great support and responded pretty quick ![]()

Their support was actually pretty fast and very helpful. I'm surprised they work on the weekends but they said that's when customers need the most help (makes sense).
I'm wrong for being so hasty to post about my woes. Theres a support page that they directed me towards. You need to login with the email you used to purchase the unit. But this support page has a lot of resources on how to set up the unit. The unit does not come with some features installed, so you need to go to the webpage and install the apps yourself.

Yes they have been pretty fast with their responses. So far happy with their CS pre-purchase.
What apps aren't installed?
