Please have your families check out their PPE and make sure it isn't a regular or imitation mask. We have many reports overseas of fakes and copies that provide little to no protection being sold online.

A few days later he started having breathing problems. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Three days later he was under hospice care. During the hospital stay and hospice she wasn't no allowed to be with him. My sister is sheltered in place until she can be tested today. It is very likely she will test positive. She is all alone with her grief and anxiety in their home of 57 years. Her son lives nearby. He can't hold her or enter the house.

The funeral is limited to 10 people, direct family only. Funeral must be at the grave site only. Jim was one of my mentors, he was wise, inspirational and had a wonderful dry sense of humor, A 6 foot 3 big strong in ever way man. She plans to have a celebration of life in the summer if the virus allows it.

Somewhere, someone infected him. This is what happens when individuals decide their wants or needs are more important than others, that their liberty entitles then to infringe on the liberty of others. Over 60 percent of the population believe it is too soon to open the country which likely means at least 60 percent have been able to find a way to adhere to the guidelines.

As one person said here ---you know where I can stick my opinions. You can all stick your opinions and selfish or twisted view of your rights or liberty over that of others, or you have to work regardless of the consequences to others--and, of course, up your ass where the sun don't shine. Especially those that tell me I am not listening to their point of view, try to make it sound like I am the only one that does not share their opinions or I have a screw loose.

I honestly hope no one else anywhere experiences what my sister is. Based just the few here it is certain they will.
My condolences for your tragic loss, bcredliner. Hope you guys have a great celebration for him during summer and hope everyone else, especially your sister, comes through unharmed.

I've been reading the posts on this thread. I think most of us believe in using protection measures to fight this virus outspread.

There's different degrees of protection and different strategies to go about protecting oneself.

Since virus itself is an indiscriminate phenomenon, I believe the protection regimen should be unilaterally the same in scope and duration, slightly adjusted for level of infection, difference in population density, geographic or demographic differences, etc.

Implementation of these protection regimen should be nationwide and should not be an individual decision. Too much freedom to do what one damn feels like doing will only break the chain in an otherwise complete protection circle. I remember a very prominent public figure who half-assedly recommended that all american people wear masks to protect themselves against Covid 19, then quickly, during the same speech, says he will NOT use masks as it is his freedom to choose.

Imagine having a layer of saran wrap covering your big bowl of soup to prevent dust from entering the soup.

Having individual freedom in choosing his/her own protection or NO PROTECTION is gonna open up your saran wrap just wide enough to allow dust to go in, and taint the ENTIRE bowl of soup.

It's not rocket science, people.

Please stop referring to your individual freedom to not care about other people's well being.

That's right. Permanently ban all contact sports because masks aren't worn and if they are, they are likely to come off. Permanently close all bars and restaurants because you can't eat or drink without a mask on. Etc etc.

Safety first people!

May I suggest an alternative: if you don't feel comfortable going outside without a mask on, or without other people having masks on, don't go outside. Stay inside your house.

You don't. You are not thinking clearly.
What an ignorant inconsiderate thing to post right now.

Where do you think he got it if not from someone else? Michigan very early put in place one of the most strict guidelines including shelter in place. Someone somewhere was not following the guidelines.

And to tell me I am not thinking clearly, even if I were, displays your total lack of compassion, empathy and dignity. You can't fix stupid.

The point is if you do go outside, you should put on your mask. It should not be a choice, you should be liable for damages if you end up infecting others because you choose NOT to put on your mask when you step outside.

Which part of this do u have a problem with?

If your only concern is you missing sports, then I don’t think you will ever understand why the need for safety trumpets your need to NOT wear the mask.

Mask is metaphor for whatever public safety mandate is on your local area.

Everyone has a choice and that's why America was founded.

But people need to do what is right for them and them alone and not impose on others.

None of the experts, which you are obviously not one, have suggested permanently banning anything.

What they are recommending, which I am sure you will ignore, is to have a plan for reopening that closely monitors the impact of each stage of reopening. This is so any increase in infections is quickly known. If infections increase to rescind a stage or stages, adjust the plan, and cease the openings until after 14 days of consistent decline in infections. Your lack of concern and respect for other up there with the worst of narcissistic behavior.

There will be new normals. As long as the virus cannot be adequately treated, there is a no vaccine, and a minority ignore the guidelines please buy season tickets to the games.

It is obvious too informed adults that there will be many like you that either think they know more than the experts or don't care what happens to others and will do whatever they want. That makes it a sure thing it will become a permanent new normal. The same is true if patrons of public places if they aren't intelligent enough to get with the program.
