Well, then hopefully someone can chime in with personal experience as I only have experience with original equipment to this point... But it does still seem like a interface problem...

DIS boots just fine- GT1 shows up connected with full signal. If I run any test between T30 laptop and GT1 head, it passes.

Laptop is 192.168.68.30 and GT1 head is 192.168.68.35 (both 255.255.255.0).

I bought this GT1 and IBM T30 over a month ago, had to send it back as the first head was damaged in transit, finally got a replacement and now that won't work either !!
change your ip address on your laptop, i guess it should read 192.168.68.1
good luck!

cheers

There is no problem with the i.p as the IBM T30 is talking to the head without any errors.

All the self tests run just fine.

It seems to be a problem between the car and the head.

i remember my GT1 head had the same issue the second time i've received it from Yohotech for repair, self test runs fine. Mr. Jackey sent me a new one and i can scan the X without any issues. Could be the GT1 was damaged while in transit. i suggest find a different car E39 or E53 and try it out if it fails then send it back to Yohotech and ask for replacement which is a painful task hehe.

cheers,

Are Yohotech the manufacturer? I bought mine from ecutrade.com. Its already been back to them once as the first time it arrived, it was damaged in shipping and there was components floating around inside.

ecutrade.com have not been any help at all really. At first, he blamed me for taking the head apart and breaking it !!

Did you notice any faults at all other than not being able to connect to the vehicle? Was it functioning otherwise perfectly ?

I'm going to try it today on another E46 but one that has a 9 pin socket-that way I can rule out if it might just be the cable.

sorry i assumed that your GT1 head is from Yohotech, mine was manufactured by them. the first one that was sent to me was faulty temp light was lit permanently. shipped it back to them for repair, they told me that it was tested and working on a E39 before they shipped it back to me but couldn't do a diagnosis even though self test was successful. i had to ship it back to them the second time but for replacement and was the only solution in my case since i had been chasing them for 6 months.

So did you send it back twice? Once for temp light and then again because it wouldn't connect, despite self test working OK?

You eventually got a working DK head after 3 attempts?
