From the Ibus Facebook group wiki:
“No sound after radio installation
After installation of the radio is garkein sound [ edit ]
Check if you have a power amp left in the boot.
If so, there are really only two options:
The power amplifier does not receive a switch-on signal ("remote") or voltage.
It is DSP installed and you have either no DSP license to the I-BUS app purchased or no Resler USB flash drive AND no license.
There is a coding error of the DSP. This problem can only be solved by a capable coder.”
I’ve also read in post on there, that the usb stick can sometimes throw out the coding for DSP. Perhaps this is why you lost your 20 seconds of sound?

After repeated attempts to get help specific to having DSP, nav and 6 disc CD player, my experience is don't expect any help from Seicane if you have a problem. I wouldn't purchase one unless someone here has has been successful installing the exact factory components you have found an installer that is familiar with the unit prior to the purchase.

I don't have a clue if the IBUS caused the 20 seconds to go away. I did purchase the licenses for both the IBUS and DSP. As mentioned I haven't found anything that indicates the DSP portion does anything other than show the factory DSP functions. Since the Seicane has similar functions I don't see a reason I need it.

I am not a capable coder. Never needed or wanted to do anything that required coding. Nevertheless I will see if I can get the software to load today. I recall the specific directions were posted earlier in this thread.

I thought I would go ahead and wire the backup camera. Please post the connections needed again.

Well because you reinstalled all the factory pieces to validate the sound and it didn't work, I wouldn't think the DSP from bordmonitor to mid-basis coding will help in resolving the sound. If you had the 20 seconds of sound then I would've said yes, let's try it. Post #735 had the coding instructions from Txyaloo.

The ibus system pings all devices in the chain - radio, navigation, board monitor, etc. If any of those devices is missing, the amp won't stay on. You need to leave the factory radio connected in the trunk. Second, you have to code the amp using NCSExpert.

1. Read the module (could be called AMP, DSP, radio) with NCSExpert in Manipulation mode
2. Edit the module value called: BEDIENELEMENTE
3. Change the value from "bordmonitor" to "mid_basis"
4. Save the new configuration file
5. Run SG_CODIEREN in NCSExpert

Your amp should stay on as soon as the coding is done. There's no way to do the coding through the ibus app. You'll need to use NCSExpert

I would definitely agree with this. I installed audio for 7 or 8 years and I still have the factory head unit in there because of the DSP. I want the android capabilities badly enough now though that I am doing away with DSP altogether and going to do my own amplification/tuning instead. Much more work and expense... but I was afraid of the exact situation you're in redliner.

Wish I could help you out but my equipment installation knowledge falls short of DSP integration. I always advised clients with it to replace everything if they wanted me to do the work because of that. I could guarantee my work and a good sounding system that way...

I am headed down this path as well. I've slowly been acquiring amps. Well, so slowly that I only have 2- the one for the BSW sub and a 4CH. I have also been grabbing audio cables. I think I have what I need but would totally take some advice.

Since I have been VERY happy with the Eonon in the E46, I will likely grab one of those to start. My plan has been to get one with the DSP cable and see what happens on the basic install. I intend to run my traditional audio cables for the other amps at the same time.

I do not intend to replace factory speaker wires. I get that it may be preferred, but if I do that, I will have to rip apart the dash to get to those- cause I just will- and I just don't wanna.

What was the model number of your radio again?

I posted the diagram for it a few times in this thread but I don't have the number handy since your radio isn't the same as mine. So I can't pull it up instantly.

You can grab your speaker wiring, and do all your splicing in the back of the truck. That's where I will be doing it.

As a foot note I am replacing the alternator on my daughters 528i.

So while working on it I couldn't pass up it having dsp so I connected my radio to her cars dash connector with dsp and it worked for 30 seconds or so and cut off.

Applying 12 volts to the amp lead on the factory connector made the sound stay on.....

Then the fight ensued......

Daughter didn't want to go back to her broken led mid radio.

But at least if you don't have nav you definitely don't need anything special to do dsp and the seicane like I have.

Wish I had a nav car to work with local here that has dsp.

Good thing I didn't throw away the pig tail they sent with the radio that does the other plug. I have that if anyone ever needs a pinout of it for a mid type install.

On a sound quality note it was pretty quiet compared to my non dsp x5 but I think that was because I don't have the dsp license for the app and I don't have the ibus adapter installed on her car. So no way of controlling the dsp itself.
