There is a myriad of misleading, non scientific conclusions and faulty extrapolations from varies sources of information.

We can debate the seriousness and mortality rate of the virus but it serves no purpose. We know the virus is very serious, very contagious and people are dying.

There is alway some degree of plus minus accuracy in projecting data and it is extremely easy to disagree based on what point within the plus/minus range we choose to latch onto. In addition, the projections change daily as new information is added. It is easy to use dated calculations.

It should be clear to us that people are dying that would not if we were all following the same 'rules'. If a city, county or state does not follow the guidelines the virus will spread. If any of those entities wait until there are cases it will likely be too late to keep the virus from spreading in that area. Most importantly, if citizens ignore the guidelines they are not strict enough. Right now we are chasing hot spots. It would be over sooner and the economy could start the recovery process sooner if the entire country sheltered in place.

It should also clear to us that we didn't take it serious enough soon enough, we had no plan for any level of pandemic, people in place to execute it and we still are struggling to have what is needed to competently deal with this crisis.

First time out in 4 days. Planned everything in one run. Had to take the wife to the doctors office for back pain, bank deposits and grocery shopping. It is really eerie in the supermarket. I think I saw a total of 5 shoppers total. Anyway, back home in my castle of doom.

LOL indeed! Those are the White Claws for the wifey, I don't touch them. If I tried, I would pull back a bloody stump.

My stock of 1/2 gallon Grey Goose however, is a little stronger.

I think the last stat I saw said that alcohol sales were up 70% and beer 50%. Guess we Americans have our priorities. I know the wife and I have been doing our part through rum and whiskey purchases.

Btw, finally finished Contagion. Certainly eery how this pandemic mirrors the movie. Thank goodness things aren't quite as dire in terms of the virus portrayed. But the movie did not touch on any long term economic consequences which I fear will be a more worrying issue than covid itself by the time this is over.

This has been my fear since day 1. I hoped and felt I would be ok with the illness but it looks like I am unemployed until the middle of June at the soonest.

I wish I had good stuff here, but when it shows up it can anywhere from 130 USD to 500 USD a 5th. I don't think so.... jungle juice or converted pressure cookers handle it instead.

Now bacon on the other hand.... I'd stab a MF right now for some flat nosed beef!!
