Last I heard is that everyone dies in this life, but I'm hoping it won't happen during my next penis reduction surgery...

imagine if the country is going about pretending all is normal, how many cases would there be, and how much more can the medical staff and available equipment deal with?
What would the survival rate be then? You think it will remain at 98%?

Again I want the country (and the whole world) to get back to their lives, but so far the argument has been to simply reopen and pretend that nothing is wrong. The “brave” and “smart” take measures to reduce the risk. So far I have not seen anyone coming up with safety measure, only calls for “liberation”

Would be nice to see someone with a plan before jumping into the fire.

Look at the military, they don’t just show up somewhere and start fighting regardless of how brave or well equipped they may be. The military spends tremendous amount of time planning, securing supplies, readying hospitals, protective equipment, food, etc. Then they go to a fight knowing the have a reasonable chance to win.

For example, let’s say Monday the city will be open again, will they allow restaurants at full capacity? Will they allow a bartender to serve drinks if he’s unknowingly infected? Where are those new rules before risking the lives of people?

A measured opening has been mentioned many times. Here in Texas reopenings are starting but certainly not "willy nilly." Masks are required in public spaces still. No medical facility has been overwhelmed, and with the moritorium on elective procedures, hospitals have lost a lot of income. Health care workers hours are being cut, doctors are taking pay cuts while still covering more patients. Hospitals who aren't well capitalized are talking about shuttering. Instead of not overwhelming the system, we are starving it. We have a privatized health care system, for better or worse. It needs patients of all types to survive.

I think those who want lock downs to continue are not looking at it from the perspective of the unemployed or the business owner who is likely going to have to shutter. Forget the economic costs, which are going to be huge, how many lives are going to be lost to other causes. I think the last statistic I saw was that for every percentage point unemployment rises, 40,000 people die. That's crazy to think of the longer this thing goes.

Where have you been the last 6 weeks?

Agree with x5Alpine. Too much MSLSD for you.

Not sure where you heard that but I personally have been to almost every shit-hole in the world and most times it was without that support.

As for this Chinese virus... if you believe the number of confirmed infections (tested) and that there aren't a bunch of extra DMF'rs laying around then mortality rates will either stay pretty much the same as they are now.

So yes 98% of those infected will not die by more people getting infected. There will just be the same percentages but with higher numbers.

Seriously now.

Are you implying someone has created a plan to manage this? Or is the plan to rely on every business to figure out their own plan? If that’s the case has anyone mandated that businesses are expected to have a plan when they open? Or assume that they would?
Can a barber have 10 customers inside the shop waiting their turn? Can the bus be filled to capacity? Reopening guidelines are either not created or not published. Burying your head in the sand is not a plan.

The plan of not having a plan is not a good plan.

As Mark Twain put it. It’s not wrong doing the right thing.

I prefer to quote the Constitution or the Founding Fathers, but nothing says you have to go to a place that has people NOT social distancing...

As for me, I know that freedom isn't free. Because I paid for it.

OB, When you go out next time stop by Charlie Mike's for me and have a couple so I can drink vicariously through you!
