I only have heard anecdotal evidence of any change in violence directed at Asians/Chinese tied to anything trump said regarding the sars-cov-2 virus.

Literally if a document was trying to reference the virus and they put covid-19 as the name of the virus that is just wrong it's the name of the disease so it should have been crossed out and changed to sars-cov-2 or the alias wuhan virus.

Exactly how is referring to the source of a virus 'shifting blame', it's a fact. The virus came from there it's not in dispute. You bought up 'it came through Europe' are you trying to say it originated in Europe or that it came through Europe to the usa and what would that have to do with the proper and long standing tradition of naming a virus after the geographic location where it originated.

If a new virus was discovered in Wisconsin and they called it 'the wisconsin virus' it would not bother me at all; in fact if it makes you feel better you can refer to sars-cov-2 as the wuconshan virus.

I'm not exaggerating about how to deal with somebody that would harm an asian because of the origination of the virus. Say if somebody killed somebody for that reason, i would have no problem pulling the lever on the electric chair myself.

Even though I knew this I didn't want to bring your family into the conversation. Family and kids is where I draw the line when it comes to posting.

The original virus strain may have come from China, but the strain that is affecting the USA was genome back to Europe. The mutation of this strain can only be found in Europe. It's like an Asian person marrying a European, and when they genome the couple kids' DNA the kids have ancestry back to Europe and China. The fact that the virus has both genomes points to it being from Europe and not directly from China.

The naming of virus from there origins has been changed. Is there a country call Swine?

It did start in China and mutated not mixed with another strain when it got in to the general population of the world (still it came from China)

Swine is where it originated as in it came from pigs and you should happy as a pig in shit about that name since the swine in question came from China as per gene tracing as shown in a post way above, yet we called it Swine flu not Chinese pork flu.

It's a shame you have taken these swipes at Andrew as he has been pouring oil on these troubled waters and be very civil to you.

That being said I agree about family and I would never say anything about your wife or kids. Although I did sleep with all your girlfriends.

More Racist comment. Swine flu originated in pigs in the USA not Chynna as your illiterate President pronounce it.

In 1998, swine flu was found in pigs in four U.S. states. Within a year, it had spread through pig populations across the United States. Scientists found this virus had originated in pigs as a recombinant form of flu strains from birds and humans.

Pouring oil on troubled waters is the actual expression for soothing turmoil and since I have had to provide you with many definitions of simple words..... Illiterate? Let's just say that I am impressed that spellcheck is able to work with someone with your level of competency.

I see we are still nicely divided along political lines. Unfortunate.

Trump is a detestable human being. But he did not impact this any more negatively than a Democrat would have. Pelosi was encouraging large gatherings in late February.

That could be interpreted (probably wrongly) as putting dollars over lives to promote tourism in late February just as Trump gets accused of. Let's stick try to stick to the facts.

6. The statistics are showing we over-corrected in our reaction to flatten the curve
7. We, collectively, spent 6 trillion dollars to buy time
8. The US has lost 38.4 million jobs so far

Call the disease whatever you want. Doesn't change anything about the situation. There will be outliers in every situation and that guy who stabbed the Asian family should be treated as any criminal in his case, with the added caveat of the hate crime statutes. He was 19 years old from Midland and probably doesn't know is face from his asshole. Maybe 40 or 50 years in prison will enlighten him.
